Need help this may start a war
So I'm up in arms on whether to build my current l99 (headers, catback, intake, tune) or to sell my car for a ls3. Will a boosted l99 keep up or be faster than a ls3? Thanks!

Do you like to ride in your car. Or do you like to drive your car?
Pretty much if you have to ask. You don't want an LS3. Put an LSA blower on your car. And call it a day |

Why do you say that? I love to get on the thing. I find myself thinking is it worth getting a ls3 for the manual. That and the power everyone seems to say that once I get anywhere near 675 in a l99 I have to worry about the trans

Because the l99 I've been told won't make as much power as the ls3 due to loss through the trans

Because if you want a manual car you generally know you want a manual car. And correct if your looking at pushing an serious power at all. Your looking at 8k or more for a trans. Or stay around 625-650hp. And just put in a nasty stall and will be 10s car |

At the track the L99 has been out performaning the LS3, there's L99s making over 900rwhp. A 6L80E will hate life around 650/700hp. You can make 1000hp on an ls3 but it won't be any faster then a 700hp auto at the track.

Comes down to personal preference, and what your goals with the car are.

Where in Mass you at? My son(oldest)went to WPI so familiar with area..anyway..the REAL question is:
A: How much money u got? B: How fast you want to go? C: Divide A by B equals Reality LOL The DOD delete on L99 makes it an LS3 less trans, either trans plus rest of rear drive train will need upgrading equal to 1.5x power of engine(safety factor) Or build Warhawk and sky's the limit.. F. Weller BTW - Do you want to shift or not?
