Upgraded tires
Got Good Year to buy back their tires. Upgraded my tires to Michelins Super Sports, 295 up front and 315's in the back.

Tell me more about this GY buy back. I'd take Michelins over GY's any day.

Those tires sizes fit fine on the factory rims and there was no clearance issues?

Well I'm thinking about this set up after I use up my MT 305/35-20", but I have to say wtf at GY, that thing is utter BS, there is no comparison between MT and GY, I couldn't get the MT to break loose on regular streets... where as with GY it almost made me sell the car due to shitty traction, the only down side to MTs is the thread wear.
But depending on how much I use up I might go Michelins if its too much. |

It works!!! So now before a cold take off I just tap twice and have a lot more traction confidence. |

Now with the mods giving 200 more hp my MTs don't even make a sound, it feels like my car is a 4 wheel drive. Now if the michelins is half way as good, I would still go for it after the MT. |

As you can see from the pics above, I've checked out the Michelins in person. Not really a fan of how they look sticking out from the wheel and figured I'd go with MT after the GY is done. Still kind of up in the air so these threads definitely interest me and it's good to hear your experience. I will say the ZL1 mag ride etc is tuned using GY and once properly warmed up they do the trick on the road and autox tracks. And I like the looks better than any of them. |

Is MT different than Michelin?
I know in all of the ZL1 vids from Chevy they do talk about how the car is balanced and tuned to the setup as it rolls off the floor so I wonder about making changes like the tires. They may be better tires but will they match the balance as well? |

It really depends on how you plan to use them, but yes this car is definitely setup for the GY tires and I had always just planned to stick with them, but there are always options. If you're going to hit the drag strip every now and then I'd go w/ MT but on a road track the GY or Michelin would be better. |
