you should be fine. Its 17s that are an issue. If you have Brembos , you just have to remove the roller skates to use 18s.

What is their purpose? I'm new to the platform and have no idea, it seems strange that they can be removed with no ill effects?

I believe they were designed for a better hold placement for the break pads but really they are pointless. A lot of guys on here just cut them off and install better break pads when it's time or when they down size on rims. I plan to go 18s from the 20s so if there is an issue with the roller skates I'll just do the same as the others on here.i guess on the 18s it's based on the rim design if you need to deal with the skates. I know a few that had no issues and left them and some had to address them. Hope this helps! Good info in the wheel section of past post on this to.

How wide a slick are you planning to put on an 18" v6 wheel? Aren't they like only 8.5" wide?

As for the roller skates, someone once mentioned that they helped prevent vibration by counterbalancing the pad when braking. You don't have to cut them off if you don't want them, just buy a set of pads that don't have them.

When I put the powerstop rotors on, the package came with a set of ceramic brake pads that did not have the roller skates on. These squealed like crazy so I bought another set of pads without the roller skates and wore those for a while. I added some some brake quiet but it must have not been enough, because at between 15-10mph, one loud squeal remained. Finally, I purchased a set with the skates again, added a bit more brake quiet and FINALLY, no noise. Prefer the skates to the noise every day of the week and twice on sunday....

I put Hawk brake pads on mine when I switched to an 18 inch rim size. No squealing thus far on mine. Good luck!

They don't fit over the brembos. It's not the roller skate pads, it's the front face of the caliper. The wheels don't have enough offset from the face of the lugs to the backside of the spokes. They would only fit with a spacer.

For stock SS brembo brakes.
17.9 1/2 for Rear.
17.5 for front.
This is according to Weld.
