Android Auto Vs. Apple Carplay

I have Android auto. How doe AA compare to Apple Carplay using an Android phone? Is AC worth getting? Can they both be paired at the same time without conflict?

You can only use Android Auto with a Android and Apple CarPlay with a Apple device. Unless you’re switching to an iPhone. It’s a nice interface and gets the job done like AA

You need an iPhone to use Apple Play.

Each system is proprietary to the phone. But I think you can run both if you have both phones with those systems. You’ll just have to disconnect one and connect the other.

Carplay is MUCH better than Android Auto. It's faster and smoother. And just works better.

Android Auto and Carplay are dependent on the phone though, so you can use either. My personal phone is a iPhone XS, but I have a Samsung Galaxy from work and I can use either or.

Android auto has more robust features, but Apple CarPlay is smoother and performs better overall to Crazed_1LE’s point.

It’s mostly down to preference, but it’s hard to argue against Apples simple design which makes it intuitive and smooth to operate.

The two killer apps - Google Maps and Waze (also owned by Google) seem to work better on AA, since it is a Google platform. I've noticed things like voice recognition and some simple things like swipe to move the map and pinch zoom work on AA but not on CarPlay. AA performance depends on the phone hardware and Android version, where Apple is more consistent with its hardware. As long as you have a good current device AA seems to work well.

My full playlists never seem to fully enumerate in Amazon music using ACP.

Can't comment on Android auto but Apple Carplay has no issues with phone connection to my Iphone and I can display waze on my screen and access what I choose to pretty easy with no issues.
