426 HP SS LS3 Does it ever seem slow to you?

I have had my share of cars, I have driven all kinds of things in 33 years of driving. AT TIMES, my SS just seems slower then it should seem to be rated at 426 HP ( I know its less then that at the wheels) Its all stock. I did the fuse pull and all, I run 93 gas all the time. I mean, I hit it in first gear and it just seems to lack that " Push you back in your seat thing" My car has 2017 miles on it. Is it still breaking in and will get a little better? I don't beat on the car. Pretty much drove it like your supposed to while its breaking in. I have had it almost 18 months and just 2017 miles on it.Belive me, I take care of it. The temp gage runs steady at 210 -215 on a hot summer day. When I bought the car. It had 22 miles on it from a dealer. He said it was test driven afew times. Car salesmen probley drove it a few times too. The first night I brought it home there was trouble with the cars computer when I put it in cruse control. I Brought in back to the dealer and they had the car 3 days reprogramming it from GM. They told me they had problems with the computer and the Mass air flow unit but told me they reprogrammed it and replaced the mass air flow unit. Later on, I did have its harmonic balancer replaced. "Out of round" I noticed the car shook at an idle. Dealer found I was right and replaced it. Whats your spin on what may or maybe not going on with my Car?

Honestly I think these cars take a while to fully break-in, my car is at 11500 miles right now and it seems like at around 11000 it had a little extra umph, I did a fuse pull and left it for three days just before that thanks to some bad gas but I drove it after the fuse pull it seemed like it had a Lot of extra power behind it.

The tuning on these cars is not what you would expect for a 426hp vehicle and there is not much you can do about it if you want to keep your warranty. Have you tried turning off all the nanny controls by holding down the left button in front of the shifter for about 7 - 10 seconds? That's about the best you can expect without an aftermarket tune.

How much would a tune really help though considering he is still stock?

Yes, I have played around with the buttons to see what they would do and they really don't do much as far as speed or out of the gate. Im sure they have more to do with handling and traction

It's going to keep getting better as you get more miles on it, it should start livening up around 9,000 miles and keep getting better until around 20,000 then it should be at its peak. You can probably speed the process up some by running it harder for a while.
I am sure you will be feeling those 426 horses as you get it more broken in.

Part of the tune involves changing the torque management system. This is what makes the car feel and run stronger. The stock tune only gives you about 20% - 30% of the available torque until you get over 3500 rpms. A good tuner can change those values.

The biggest problem is the fact, they weigh almost two tons. I also think they should have come stock with 3:73 gear to help it get going.

The power definitely isn't overwhelming for the size of the car but I think that it also hides it well, if that makes any sense at all. For example, my Firehawk and my SS run almost exact quarter mile times but the more refined ride and size of the SS makes it seem like its slower, when in fact it's not.
