This is where the blanks are at.

This is what they look like (top picture)

I'm having trouble inserting the pictures. Here is a link to them.

Yes, I do believe my car came with water for brakefluid!

Motul 660 and a Motive will be here tomorrow so I can flush and fill. With the added cooling that I now have I believe they will stay plenty cool!!!!!

With the track deflectors, no rotor shield and Motul, I've seen zero problems.

Im curious about these "blanks"... I'll have to check my car.

Ok, pictures fixed. Enjoy! Hopefully Chevrolet will offer the correct brake cooling ducts to fit those holes. If they don't do it soon then I'll fabricate some duct work to fit the holes so I don't have things exposed.

Those holes are for the extra radiators that the coupe SS gets. The brake ducts mount on the front control arms and come with a smaller dust shield.

You can see the scoops reaching down in this pictures-

Ok, I completely get it now. The SS convertibles do not get the Aux Radiators that the SS Hardtops get. That's why nobody with a SS Hardtop are having any issues they don't have this blank in the grill and have this vent in the wheelwell for the brake cooling. I'm glad I figured this out but now I feel robbed that my convertible didn't get the extra cooling and I paid more for it since it's a vert.

Motul 660 installed. I will hit the Tail of the Dragon this weekend. If anyone is around, come out, it's a fun drive.

Keep in mind, the 660 fluid (and to a lesser degree the 600), need to be changed FAR more often than the OEM stuff.

High temp brake fluids absorb water like a sponge. That lowers the boiling point. For a 660, I would change (not bleed, change) the fluid every 3 months.

I run Motul 600 in my car now and change every six months, bleed after every track day.

Have fun at the Dragon.

How much fluid do you usually use doing this? I bought 2 500ml bottles and used the Motive and bled both sides of each caliper till they ran clean. That only took 1 bottle.

thanks,
Phillip

That will be plenty. Use a turkey baster or your motive to get the reservoir empty. Fill with new and then bleed.

I would say between 7-800ml will work.

It was a good day on the Dragon. Brakes forever which was nice. I have to say, the new Camaro is a heck of a car. Surprised some people today, good times.
