Top one looks like the outer pad is missing?
Bottom pic? Pad down to the metal? It's common, buying used cars with bad tires, bad brakes, low pads... My Camaro needed rear pads when I bought it. Then ended up needing much MUCH more... |

My car rear pads and caliper pins are on order. No pad left.
Did everything else in the maintenance. About 99,000 miles but the pads hadn’t been replaced. Last edited by mike12345; 05-12-2020 at 07:49 PM. |

Yup that's what happens when you don't replace brake pads lol. No big deal, pads n rotors.

It’s an older car only blowing $49 not going to bother with the rotors

That's into the caliper. You need calipers, pads and rotors.

it’s just transport and costs divided by years. Just toss new pads on call it good.
It’d be $1200 in oil changes. $900 two new front bumpers $900 air conditioning condenser with installation $22,000 car $11,818 averaging 22mpg at the average of $2.60 gallon burning 4,545 gallons A few hundred dollars plugs, radiator fluid, differential fluid, transmission fluid, filter, gasket, break fluid. $36818.00 Remaining Car value- $8,000 Then it’s cost $2800 a year Something to think about Last edited by mike12345; 05-12-2020 at 11:30 PM. |

I had an old Toyota PU that looked like that for the front brakes after I bought it. On my Camaro, I have low miles and the pads and rotors still look good.
It's weird looking at pics of 5th gens with worn out destroyed parts like that. I remember like yesterday when we were all anticipating the return of the Camaro back in the 2009. Man, time sure flies doesn't it? |

I just decided to buy a new car and these were 22k at the time I believe. So I’m running it into the ground and getting my moneys worth out of it. It’ll be cheaper the longer it runs.
With depreciation by the time it has any real problems it won’t be worth fixing so on to the next one. Last edited by mike12345; 05-13-2020 at 12:38 AM. |
