LS3 is only on manual and has a racier cam and no active fuel management the L99 is only on the auto has a milder cam and includes active fuel management. LS3 has 26hp more than the L99 but doesn't get as good mileage.

l99 is an ls3 re designed with a new valvtrain and cam for the autmatic to have AFM. which lowers hp but increases fuel economy.
the LS3 is just one bad ass motor with out AFM and is only available with the manual. |
