Stainless works exhaust question

I sent this email to SW support but never heard back, I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me:
Hi,
I have a question about the Chevy Camaro 2010-15 Exhaust: 3" Dual Chambered System. I currently have factory headers, but eventually will be upgrading.
Is there just an adapter between the x-pipe and cats that I would need to change in the future to make it a full 3" system?
What is the sound difference between the chambered round and the turbo s-tube?

Thanks

There is a “power connector” I think is what it’s called, that replaces the 2.5” connector piece with a full 3” connector piece.

it is a connector piece though that can be replaced, the tapper down to the 2.5" isn't built into the x-pipe?

X pipe is separate from the pieces that neck down to 2.5”. I originally didn’t plan on getting headers and just ordered the factory connect cat back. Then the internet happened and I ordered headers one night but just used factory connect for those also. Some might argue but I don’t think I’m hurting anything necking down that 1/2” after the cats. I’m not putting down enough power to have issues.

Thankyou!
Ya I doubt it'll hurt anything unless you get into turbo/super. I might possibly put in a supercharger one day so want to be prepared in case.

Yea, I don't think that will hurt you at all with your current power level.

If you were to go ahead with a cam or go FI in the future then maybe that would be a good time to consider swapping it out to full 3", but even then it would be minimal gains.

This just happens to be how 90% (made that up) of the exhaust manufacturers for our cars design them, so you are definitely not alone

I have actually had this same thing happen to me. Talked to Stainless Works and they were able to help me out. No need to fear.

I bought the Stainless Works 3" retro catback to the factory connections when I first bought the car because I liked how it made the car sound and figured if I was going to drive it I wanted it to at least sound good to start off. I had also planned on going twin turbo at that time and AGP said that exhaust setup would work fine. Ended up changing my mind and going the Supercharger route and it wasn't a problem at all.

If you decide to go long tube headers in the future by either Stainless Works or Stainless Power, all you have to do is get the headers that say "Performance Connection" and that will give you the piping to make the rest of your exhaust a full 3" from the headers back.
