Back when the 4th gen's were in production I thought the Camaro looked kind of plain next to the Firebird but I still loved them both. Now looking back, the 4th-gen Camaro actually looks really futuristic. That's especially amazing considering it was designed and introduced nearly 20 years ago. I think it would be fair that some design cues from the 4th gen be incorporated into the smaller, sleeker Alpha platform.

I love the current styling and that was a big reason I bought it, keep the styling and reduce the weight, maybe improve the interior and put more tech gadgets in it. Honestly, styling and Power are the points of interest from me. Make it a little liter and keep power and styling and you got a Home run IMO!

i think that they should try and keep it looking rather similar to the 5th gen/1st gen, but add some cues from the 2nd gen.

Hideaway's are neat! While were on the topic of lights, get rid of the automatic lights. If it's just dusk out but you don't need the headlights I'd like to run it with the parking lights on.

6th gen Camaro design to be based off 2nd gen?
Since the 5th gen camaro is designed based off of the 1st...does that mean the 6th generation would be designed based off the 2nd gen?
I know I'm getting ahead of myself by years, but I'm curious as to how they would "modernize" the 2nd gen look. What do you guys think? EDIT: Oops sorry I just found a thread already on this.A mod can do what they want with this.

I think the 6th gen will end up being a refinement of the current model, at least visually. If the thinking is that GM would just recreate history with their design, then are we going to see the 7th generation look like the third gen? I just wouldn't think that would be the goal of designers, to recreate the past line-up.
I wouldn't be against it, I love me some second gen cars, but I don't think it will go that way. |

I doubt it. The only 2nd gen Camaros worth doing a modern version are the '70-'73 Camaros (especially the split bumpers). Trying to do a modern version of the split bumper Camaros would be really difficult to pull off. It would look hideous, no matter how much they tried.
I think GM will stick with the '69 Camaro theme for the 6th gen. |

I personally wan them to create a whole new designs just as they did in the original line up.
I wonder what they could come up with. If I could I would take a model of the 5th gen...and "edit" it. Imagine it as a lump of clay in the shape of the 2010 camaro...and then just stretching and moving it around.

I sincerely hope not. I thought that Chevrolet ruined the Camaro when I saw my first gen 2. I do not think that Chevy wants to copy their history and discontinue the Camaro one more time after their copy of the gen 4 comes out and they only sell about twenty thousand a year. Before the irate gen 4 owners start on me, I want to say that I owned two of them and that I enjoyed both my 98 Z-28 aND MY 02 ss.
