It is. GT500 was on drag radials, so both were not factory stock, technically. Not that the outcome would have been any different.

What's with the mph on the ZL1? Was that an auto?

Are you sure about that? Looks like the factory rims, and a drag radial only pulling a 2.2 and 1.9 60'? Guess he's not that great of a driver coming off the line if you're correct.

Well neither of them are, seeing the ZL1 only made a 12.9 .

yes the GT500 was on DRs.

still cut some pretty bad 60fts though.

the mph difference is pretty big.

It has been a mystery why the ZL1 hasn't been able to live up to the marketed performance #s from GM. I think the initial cars were up to it but then something happened that resulted in the long QC hold. I bet whatever adjustment was made impacted performance. The heat soak is killing it for sure.

There is no doubt the ZL is an amazing car. More car magazines than not have found the zl to be a better over all car. But, every drag race I've seen shows the shelby to be a winner by about 5 car lengths. THAT'S AN ARSE KICKING! For many of us extreme acceleration is much more important than some of the other issues. Either way, both are GREAT CARS that anyone would be proud to own.

apparently zl1's suffers from heat soak pretty badly.

I've seen 392 challengers run better times than that and they're 100 less hp than the ZL1. Though the zl1 and the challenger weigh about the same.
