Well it is said, somewhere in the literature and marketing that it is the highest performance production Camaro ever produced. Good enough for me!

I read through this forum about every night. I have yet to see ANYBODY go into the 11s in a stock ZL1. Did I miss it? Has it happened? It's looking like a mid 12s car, with a good driver.

Thats what I think also. Just to much weight to push. I would love to find a wrecked car, to pull the engine and put in my street rod. And see how fast it would go then.

Most of the posts I have seen have been people racing when the temp is really hot. I think the car will definitely be a little quicker once the fall temperatures come around. We shall see.

Took mine to the track...completly stock and it also ran 12.90...However the eleavation at our track is not sea level, far from it. But I was pretty happy for the first time out... Just because the car has been tested (with a professional driver and probaly at sea level) to run low 11's dosent mean everyone will get that right out of the box....
Just my thoughts

I keep getting misled by these posts with "track" in the subject. Mabye I'm old school, but when I see "track" I expect one to being referring to a track or road course venue such as Laguna Seca or Riverside, and not a drag strip. We used referred to a drag strip as the "strip" and not the "track."

There is an 1/8th mile track locally, when it opens again I am thinking of taking it and seeing how well I do.
I heard guys that own zl1's dont care about stright line speed because they want to go around a cruve.the zl1 from 1969 was best at a drag race.and why do you guys want to add more power 580hp should be ok with most people you know what i think if the gt had 550hp and the zl1 has 580hp a lot of guys would be cool with that because then it would have more power when the weather cools down all cars will make a little more power just my 2 cents

Well here where I am from, track means the dragway. And I am in my 60s.
