FAST Lsxr intake manifold need tune?

So I picked up a 102mm FAST lsxr intake manifold with 102mm ported throttle body... I was wondering if it requires a tune right away or could I drive with it right after install. I plan on getting the car dyno tuned in the near future.
Thanks in advance

Ive never owned one but i would say hell yes you need a tune.

Just curious, what else is done to the engine to need that intake?

Dont "need" it to drive it. You can tune it later.

Worst case you might see some stalling, hanging idle, idle hunting, running rich, and slugglish low end without a tune.

The ECU will just like a PTB have to relearn the AFR as the flow should increase slightly but I would say its ok to drive until your tuned unless it really sucks bad long beyond what you think is the learning curve. And you must have went with big money for the Nick Williams drive by wire, the whole deal is unless your built and larger cubes you may not get much from it.... Would be better on my engine as its been reported over the years the gains are negligible stock cubes mild build not worth the bucks. Now if your going to plumb all the bosses with nitrous or something it may be worth it to you..... Other than that you should have done the research... lots of old posts long ago on it, its dyno gains are even measured off a ls7 not a ls3....

From what ive read, I dont think you stand to gain much power from the fast intake on that setup. Look into it, but i think its pretty expensive for 10hp. The stock ls3 intake is pretty good. good luck

Unless your tune was horrendous in the first place, you can easily drive without a new tune. The fuel trims will simply adjust themselves and the car won't run at peak performance until you do.
