Malibu better than Camaro?
I know the Camaro is better but take a look.
How about a touchscreen with storage behind it? Tapshift on top of the shifter? I know there is debate between a muscle car having a luxurious interior vs having minimal stuff, so I created the thread with pics in the "off topic" section since I figured it would get moved anyway. Seriously take a look at this interior and tell me you wouldn't want some of the features in the Camaro!!! http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=172793 Just a taste...push button parking brake.

Granted, but I prefer to drive and handle a car, not conduct a business meeting or watch dvds.

Some good interior improvements for sure. If the layout is successful then some of this will go in the new Camaro redesign I'm sure. I don't really like the E-Brake button. I prefer an E-Brake be a solid handle.

Considering it's a 2013, showcasing Chevy's brand new infotainment system for the first time to the world....yeah. I'd say it's better in that respect!!
But the Camaro is unique, inspired by history...and demanded by enthusiasts. I can't say anything bad about it. |

My charger has a nicer interior than the camaro, but that doesn't mean much. My charger didn't come out until two years later. The Malibu is that much newer so I expect the interior will be nicer.
Wait for another refresh on the camaro and you'll see a much nicer interior.

Meh, my commuter car and Camaro are two different things. With the commuter you want all that fancy flashy nice stuff. With the Camaro, at least from me I didn't want things that could detract from the driving experience.

Well, development on the 2013 Malibu started around the time Camaro development was finishing up...so it's more or less the latest and newest technology.
Oh, and remember that with the Malibu, GM is pulling heavily on conquest sales from Camry/Accord. It's very important to offer a best-in-class interior (especially when you look at the crap Toyota/Honda are putting out right now). Camaro, on the other hand, is nowhere near Malibu's volume.

GM is up against very stiff competition.
Having an electronic parking brake is a great thing. Especially when it's equipped with a hill-assist program. It holds the rear brakes on a hill so the car doesn't roll back while you let out the clutch. The brakes disengage as the clutch engages so you never, ever have to worry about rolling on a hill. Even as an experienced manual-trans driver (this will be my 16th year driving manuals), I find it to be a very nice feature to have. (Seattle has some pretty damn steep hills--) |

Sounds like you need to cancel that Camaro order and wait for the 2013 Malibu. Meanwhile, I'll be loving every minute driving my SS enjoying the DRIVING experience!

It's all about weight. It's already a heavy car and the more electronics they give the more it just goes up. I'm hoping that they cut weight rather than add it at this point.

How do you e-brake drift with a button?

Whats up with the push buttom envy? If everyone wants push button start and push button brakes, buy a car with them. The Camaro is a driving machine not a mobile entertainment system. Turning a key and pulling up on the brake lever is simple and works great. JMO.
