Dynatech 2" Headers, 3" Outlet SuperCats, Modified Billy Boat Fusion Exhaust
Installed the following and got it tuned:
Ceramic Coated 2" Primary Dynatech Long Tube Headers 3" Outlet Dynatech SuperCats (Welded in an extra O2 bung for Wideband) Billy Boat 3" Fusion Dual Mode Exhaust (Modified for 3" Tubing Entire Length, removed 2.5" section and welded 3" extension) Drove the car a little and checked for leaks and rattles. All the parts fit great. Had to remove the rubber boot on the steering joint, cut off the extra threads on the passenger firewall stud and trim the belly pan. (No Big Deal At All) The car starts awesome and has an aggressive tone and then settles down into a nice growl. With the valves open it has lots of character and sounds amazing! Loud when you get on it but not crazy when just cruising. With the valves closed you could sneak up on a cop eating donuts... No drone, period. So far I am really happy with the setup! Note: You do loose about 2.5" of ground clearance at the Collector/Cat location. No big deal if you know this upfront but I learned it the hard way. Lost 3 lbs of boost and the car feels a lot quicker! Also had to swap the DR's out (the bald ones were my second set to look like this and they held pretty strong until they showed the cords. |

Car ran great but I wasn't driving it. It ran 11.63 at 120 in 9,000 DA. Then it ran another 11.63 right after that! Can't wait to see what it can do in a more normal 7,000 DA day. |

I guess I'm stupid concerning this but how can one pick up performance when loosing 3 lbs of boost? Seems like a considerable amount for these cars. Does your car have other modifications? Your help with this is greatly appreciated.

Boost is just a measure of restriction. Higher flow through the new exhaust lowers restriction, therefore lowering boost pressure. Since efficiency is up and restriction down, power will be more then it was.

I really only look at the boost numbers when I make a change to the car or if something is wrong. Less restriction means more air flow and less resistance. |
