A 40 years old car is not a DD. Late model car has AC, good radio, GPS, home link, the list go on and on...Unless the car is fully restored. I do have a older dodge truck, but it is my hauler that I put less than 2k per year.

Nothing like old muscle... especially for those of us who grew up in the muscle car hay-day. I would love to have a '67 Chevelle SS396. That's always been my favorite. That said, after having this modern day '13 Camaro SS "muscle car" for a few years there is NO WAY I would buy one of those '67 Chevelles unless it was a rest-mod. Modern day suspensions, brakes, electronics, and drivetrains is the only way to go. So basically, if I could have the equivalent of my '13 Camaro and just drop a '67 Chevelle body on it... I'd do it in a second. Otherwise, no.

I also join the choir for 'Own Both' I purchased my 2012 SS and 77 Grand Prix about the same time. I bought the GP because it was an exact match to a GP I owned years ago. When I went to pick up the GP, we had to smack the starter with a hammer to get it going. On the way home, while listening to the lifter tap, the brake pedal dropped to the floor and Brake light came on. AHH, the memories came flooding back! These were just a few of the typical problems of the cars of yesteryear!! Have a knowledgeable friend or good mechanic on hand for the old car.

This perfectly balanced V6 LS is too much fun. And reliability is unmatched.

As much as I'd love to have an older car, I'm no mechanic and anything other than a show car that was very occasionally driven would be a disaster. I want an older Corvette in the worst way, but the thought of maintaining it is kind of scary. The other thing is that in buying something that is 40-50 years old, you really need someone that knows what to look for. Nice classic cars are expensive, and I wouldn't feel comfortable purchasing something like that on my own.
