To catch up for people who didn't read the first post.
OP brought his 1LE to the dealer he purchased the car from to do an oil change that he supplied parts for. After 3 hours he went to see why it was taking so long. Tech's said the motor hydrolocked from coolant. OP works with lawyers, I think but can't remember, and seeking the dealer to own up for their mistake and replace the engine. Dealer is denying any wrong doing. But nothing from the OP in a while and I, like many others, feel like we won't hear anything for a long while or never. |

Hmm, I just can't figure out how the dealer could have caused this problem during an oil change. I don't think running it w/o oil would do it, antifreeze in the crankcase won't do it, I'm not sure it's even possible to abuse the car on public roads to the point it'll fail from it unless you're a sociopathic maniac. I just can't see this being the dealer's fault outside of something seriously odd and unusual.
I've owned a shop, built engines, did a lot of custom work and fabrication, then got a ME degree that included work on engine development and simulation... I just can't understand how this happened outside of it being coincidental. Cars are so complicated it's not unusual for this kind of thing to happen occasionally. Sorry OP, I know you can't post now, and I understand your frustration... but I do want to know WTF happened so after the legal crap is over let us know!

Very seriously doubt it. 99% of this thread is just speculation by people who have no personal knowledge about anything. Zero disadvantage to the OP to post updates. Updating the status of his lawsuit, assuming he even filed one, does not change the essential facts or put his case in jeopardy.
