The HUD already has access to vehicle data, after all, it displays rpm, speed, lateral g-force, gear etc., there is no reason it wouldn't be able to display color dots or diamonds even on the SS. WAMS knows all there is to know about reprogramming GM modules, so putting two and two together, hopefully they can make this change as well.

I've seen this flash on the HUD but hard to decipher real details in the split seconds it's up there... is there any primer out there? Exactly what shows and meaning? Love to calibrate my brain on the 100ms flash info vs meaning.

It's pretty simple: shift lights are a set of dots (or diamonds) in the HUD that gradually light up from the sides towards the center as the rpms climb. The outermost ones are green, then yellow, then finally, when it's time to shift (6400-ish rpm), the red ones light up and meet in the center. They may even flash once the desired shift rpm is reached, but I'm not sure (because I don't have this on my car, no thanks to the aforementioned obscene penny pinching by GM).

The red one does flash (I'm quite certain, but the car is still fairly new and honestly haven't been to that RPM much yet)
