Naw. Never swirled my paint from a little washie-wash. I use sudsy car wash, a good sponge, and I only wash in straight lines, I don't scrub.

I'd conservatively say that since 1989, when I first started washing my cars in the cold, I have washed cars between 35-45 degrees F about...say ten times a winter, over 23 years for 230 cold temp washes and I've never harmed the paint, even on this Camaro, which has really lousy quality paint in my opinion

Here's some pics after my washing party.

camaro, y u no swirl up?!?!

I was thinking the same thing as I finished up my ONR wash and it started flurrying right after. I wanted to have a shiny car for the holidays before the crappy weather sets in this coming Wed.

If its above freezing I'll still wash a car. I just won't spend as much time tying to get it perfect. The leaf blower makes drying it easier in colder temps.

so you do realize I am a detail addict, if she gets dusty enough or sets just long enough I will wait for high noon, poor a hot bucket of water and hit it at warp 10 if need be mid 40's maybe!

And I thought I was the only one who did that..........

Washed mine last Tuesday in 36 degree weather for what might be the final time this year. Weather turned big time and looks like it is time to park it for a while.

No problem drying it and oh by the way I did a full haze, glaze, polish and wax on my dauther's Saturn a wekk ago in 40 degree weather in the garage, no problems at all.

As for the neighbors thinking we are NUTS, I sure hope so, I tell them certifiable and have the papers to prove it too........

LOL - knock the 0 off the end the temp you posted that's where we're at! With the right gear on we can get sweaty, got pretty sweaty snow biking yesterday at only 2 degrees.

I'm banished to the garage with ONR washing for the next few months. Years ago I used to wash in the driveway during winter. I apparently did it even when it was below freezing because it would frustrate me when it iced up. It probably wasn't good for my clear coat when I just smashed the ice and applied pressure to "rub" it off! Who knew about swirls......

I really misread this - I thought you were a 39yo Female getting ready to wash her car in a sweater...

That would have been more interesting BTW.
