lol, that much oversight at work yet they dont care your burning up the keyboard all day.
i think your just mad cause the dealer said your a man and the tech is not, which i dont understand? if you work "in government" then you accure time off for everyday you are there which can be used whenever. i think your trying to be difficult to try and prove you were wronged. it is COMMON PRACTICE to have the customer point out there concern to a tech. you refuse, your loss. |

There is/was an issue with 2012 automatics with the torque converter. There was a tech and service bulletin put out about it. Search this site and you'll find numerous emails and threads about it; search topic "V6 Automatic Shuddering". Use that as reference with any dealer you take your car to. When I had the issue with my car, I called, got the Service Manager on the phone, explained the problem--and he knew immediately what the issue was. He had the new torque converter ordered BEFORE I got to the dealership to drop the car off. We went for a short ride for him to confirm the problem (and he quickly felt/identified that it was exactly what he thought it was). Car was repaired in 2 days.
(Maybe your original dealership just doesn't want to upfront the rental car cost of doing the warranty work!) Good Luck! |

I had a rattle coming from my engine last year that would go off at weird times. I took it in to the dealer, but they could not replicate the problem either, sent me on my way. Next morning, I get into work and sure enough, there's the rattle again. I grabbed my camera and took a video with sound in the area it was coming from. I called the dealer, took it back in, showed them the video and told them the car had to warm up so take it on the highway (close by), drive it for 20-30 kms at highway speed and it should do it. Sure enough, with the video and details on when it would occur, they found the issue and the problem was solved. No, it was not convenient to take the car in twice, but I believe on test drives, they don't go touring around for extended periods of time in customer cars and adding miles to them unnecessarily.
My point is, give them as much info as you can, video the problem so they can see it themselves if you can't go driving with them. My job is insanely flexible and I make up time I take, very fortunate. Another plus for my dealer is I usually get the same service advisor who is also a Camaro owner. He gets it. My car is going in next week, not sure if my brake fluid is leaking around the reservoir. Over the phone, they gave me a couple of suggestions to check, which I have done already. I've also taken photos of the reservoir covered in fluid, then clean and the surrounding area. I've tested my brakes, but I honestly at this point don't know if I have a problem. Going in with as much as possible will ensure that it gets fixed the first time if required. Hopefully this gets resolved for you, sounds pretty frustrating! |

It's like yelling at the staff at a really bad restaurant - even if they deserve it, you just don't mess with the people cooking your food, you just walk out and never go back. (Definately give the manager a call and let them know it was terrible service though! Which you did with your 1 star review - that stuff does make it back to corporate eventually) |

Plus, now, having no other issues prior, I'd imagine a dealership wouldn't be apt to sabotage a car that corporate is keeping an eye on. |

I still don't get why people are so fixated on the fact that I have a job that I cannot take off any days. It's not a forever issue...come January I could schedule some days in March and going forward...but some people have different lives than others. Just because it may be easy for you, or your friends, to take time off in your jobs that (for some reason) you assume are similar to mine, that doesn't mean I can do so. If I could, I bet this thread wouldn't even exist! I'd just spent the day driving around with the tech, in my "manly" manner, until they observed the issue.
Of bigger relevancy than my schedule is that I felt, by way of the conversation, that my issue was being dismissed, and the "manly" comment was a thinly veiled statement that he is dismissing my issue...along with the gas comment. If he HONESTLY felt that the Exxon gas was the culprit, then should I trust his knowledge about cars? If it was a B.S. statement, then he clearly just wanted to get me myself and my car. His statements, and his resistance to working with my schedule (such as fitting me into the following weekend), and his overall attitude made me see that trying to resolve this mechanical problem through them will just result in more heated conversations and lame attempts to reason away the problem (it's because I let my XM subscription expire! Or I use the wrong windshield washer fluid!) So I feel they deserve the 1 start review. My warranty is with GM, not Lester Glenn Chevy, so, I want to deal with GM. |

First of all why oh why did you not take the car back or at least call immediately after you left the dealer and it did it ? You can't take off work to ride with a tech to point out the problem but you can be on the computer all day ? Some thing just doesn't feel right here and how old are you !

Am I the only person who uses a computer at work? I multi task. That doesn't mean I dont have to be at my job. I still get it done, regardless of forum activity. And I'm old enough to have owned a 1979 Trans Am before it was old enough to qualify as a classic. |
