Autocross Wheels and Suspension Set Up
I want to know what rims I need for the 2016 camaro. I ran the re71r tires last year and they were awesome, I would like to run them again.
I ran my 1le last year, in FS it was my first year doing any nationals level autocross at all. I just started autocorssing in 2014, I was just happy to not be last at Nationals. I plan to do much better this year and I think the new car can do it The first mod is Obviously rims and tires and suspension adjustments Since I believe the re71rs are still the tire to have this year What are the exact wheel specs I should be looking for and what is everyone getting out of their stock suspension as far as setup. Here is a shot of the new and the old together. Here is a shot from nationals Thanks,

As mentioned in the other thread, I plan on downsizing to 19s and going from there. Tire sizes are up in the air right now, as it depends on who has good widths 19s. TireRack lists two new RE71s in 265/35 and 265/40... but no specs on them yet. I wonder if one of those might be the magic bullet for the front. I'll have to ask TR about it.
If I get the SS (i.e., if the 1LE doesn't make me wait), then I'd be looking at 285s for the rear and 265s (if available) or 245s for the front. RE71 definitely because they're the only 'fast' tire that has good 19s right now. --kC |

what about 275 Square? Also what are the rim widths and offsets?

275s may be a tight fit on the 8.5" wheels for the front. Got some data from Tire Rack for those 19" RE71Rs,
265/35-19, 9.6" Tread Width and 26.3" Diameter 265/40-19, 9.3" Tread Width and 27.3" Diameter --kC |

I'll probably be doing 265/35-19 front and 275/35-19 rear, that is only 0.3" of stagger.
I'm pretty sure the 265 is already beyond optimal in terms of pinch on the 8.5" fronts, I have a hard time believing the 275 is going to put any more rubber on the ground with that wheel. The only reason to do it would be to eliminate stagger at the cost of some steering response. |

If you want a nice thick square set up that's good for the track, we have the FlowForm FF15 wheels in 19x10 ET25 which you can use 285/40/19 tires on all four corners. Here's a few shots that we took while test fitting the 6th Gen:
Test fit was done with 20" FF15's but if you're looking for a lightweight, strong and solid wheel to take the abuse from track usage, FF15's would be it. Also just as awesome, we're currently having a 20% off sale so you can save some cash as well! Here's a few shots of the 19x10 for reference: |

These are nice looking rims with good size rubber all the way around. I am just waiting to see what the 1LE rims will be. I am hoping something along these sizes. Curious what Chevrolet thinks a good track rim and tire combination for this new gen will be.

Got any pics looking down from above the rear fender? I want to run 10" square for STP, curious how the outer rear fender clearance looks at +25.

I'm hoping for more photos soon, but right now that's all I have. Of course the more photos we get back from customers the better so we can post them up, but not everyone sends us photos back

PS, you left out the bit about needing 3mm spacers in the above post that you PMed me with when I asked for 8.5 and 9.5 (FStreet) legal wheels. Quote:

A question for anyone here who might know. My possible SS has the stock silver painted wheels which will be my winter wheels. So I was thinking of going with a square 19" set up with an aspect ratio getting back to the stock tire height. But even the 1LE now has a staggered setup like most high powered track setups.
So what about a square setup for the SS? Wouldn't it reduce the standard SS understeer? Some have wondered if oversteer might result. Could that be possible? I am looking to reduce the understeer a little without touching the suspension. The standard SS suspension seems good enough for the occasional track day, autox, or sane mountain road carving. I am not looking to be the next Ayrton Senna, but just to have some fun with my SS.

I think 275s will work OK on a 8.5" wheel. I use a 255 on a 8" wheel and they are great. If it were me I'd go with the 275 square setup.

One is 1" inch small and will increase the wheel well gap by 1/2" 40 series will retain stock diameter but increase sidewall height about .4" Pretty much the same sidewall on the guys throwing 305/30's on the back. Keeping the stock diameter will be good for keeping the chassis balanced as designed.
