2011 Camaro 2SS Can Not Burn Out & Low Idle
i have a 2011 AUTOMATIC ss camaro and i have been trying to break the tires loose and i can't do a burn out to save my life.. only time i can get a little spin is if I'm in a sharp turn or in dirt... If i hit the brake and gas it it will spin a little before stopping.. Basically I'm losing power and it feels sluggish,, I did a fuse pull #5 and #20 (overnight) and still nothing,, I put on a CAI and still nothing,, I replaced the Maf sensor and still nothing,, Went to the dealer and had it test driven by service tech and he said the car does feel sluggish and it is bogging out when you punch it, so he made a report and is said he will look into it...., Its killing me.... I have babied the car it has 37,000 miles and i wanna have some fun now, The car always meet my expectations on the highway when speeding and racing cars in motion but on take off it sucks!!! My friends V6 feels stronger on take off. I also have taken of TC and ST and BOTH and put it in Comp mode.. STILL NOTHING!! Can anybody help me?? I have looked al under my hood for something and nothing,.,, No lights on or anything. I don't sometimes get a rpm jump from 1st into 2nd.. car shifts at 2000-3000 rpms and sometimes it jumps to 5000 and catches,.. also the car idles at 400 to 550 rpms up and down,, PLEASE HELP!!!!! I would just start adding things but i still have power train warranty till 100,000 miles

You are running premium, right? Hold the traction control for 10 seconds. It shuts it all off

Yes what kind of gas?
Have you owned it since new? You shouldn't have to turn everything off - What kind of tires do you have and how hot is it in South Jeresy?

I've heard a lot of related problems even on the ZL1s. I think they were all automatics, too. Maybe do a search and someone found a solution.

The L99s start off in 2nd gear. So if you use your paddle shifter and bring it down to 1st gear it should help out more.

I noticed the same thing in the 2013 Automatic SS Convertible I rented in Arizona. It had pretty worn P-Zeros on the back and from a stop there really wasn't any tire spinning action going on. It wouldn't do a burnout either like you said.
I felt like the torque management or something maybe had something to do with, but not sure. First gear didn't really make any huge difference when I tried manual mode either.

You must be blowing the doors off against your friends if you car is Hooking all the time and all they do is spin when they floor it. There is just one little thing you are probably not doing right, these car will burn some rubber if you learn how to do it.
These threads confuse me a lot because you get one thread they someone cannot do a burnout and another thread where they cannot get the car to hook at all. I know I would be happy as hell if my car hooked up no matter how hard I hit the pedal. |

It isn't that hard to do a burnout I don't know why these threads keep coming up. Turn off traction control............foot on the brake.....give it gas hard enough to break the tires loose.........regulate the tire spin and that's how you do a burnout.

OP: you car is idle fine, your right in range.
I have no issue lighting my L99, and that's without turning any nannies off, in fact I can chirp all the way up to 4th. Grant it I am tuned and that made the biggest difference. Last edited by nyrfan; 07-16-2014 at 07:40 AM. |

I am still running Pirelli's and they are dead silent. Frankly, I'm tired of the silence. |

I am running the stock PZERO's. For the record I meant to say up to 4th, not 5th.
