do it all myself, wash with two buckets, grit guards, use a lambs wool washing pad, Hyper wash from Meguiars, do a version of the wash using a pressure washer and single bucket on occasion, wheels have there own bucket. dry using a absorber towel to soak up the bulk of water on the flat areas then follow with waffle weave drying towels, then use a Metro air force blaster to blow out the cracks, grill, wheels, side mirrors, etc. I know, crazy amount of things going on here but I have a routine and it works like a charm and no one can argue with the results.

Paying two bills every time I want a clean car? Ouch.
I dry the with neither a chamois or a leaf blower. I use micro-fiber cloths specifically for drying the car although I have started to use the blower for wheels. I have had actual, real chamois leather in the past. Worked very well. Took a long time to dry with it, since it was fairly small. But in the end I started using synthetic, because the fairly expensive chamois smelled bad after a while. But it was so soft, extremely hard to scratch paint with it. I have considered getting another small chamois leather for my windshield and glass.

Terry cloth towels and a spray bottle; almost every time I drive this time of year. Paper towels for the glass.

Wash the car myself once a week. I use the 2 bucket method, wool wash mitt, turtle wash and wax soap, first do wheels with a sponge and soap, then turtle wax tire and rim cleaner, then wash car, dry with microfiber, I usually use turtle wax metal cleaner/polisher on exhaust tips. I was glad to read on how to properly wash a car, because I used to use dish soap and cotton bath towels and had a lot of scratches and swirl marks. I clean the inside once a month with armour all or turtle wax interior cleaner and vacuum out once a week. Oh yah I use turtle wax ice detailer to keep clean in between washes. Unless it rains or get real dirty and just wait until time to wash. I also use turtle wax bug and tar remover. I use turtle wax ice paste wax about every week, but I don't think it is needed. Looks pretty good after wash. Just for something to do. Probably could wax less. Kevin Last edited by grahak2; 11-19-2015 at 11:37 PM. |

Always DIY. 3 buckets, air compressor for tight spots, microfibers, detail spray, the whole 9.
