do it all myself, wash with two buckets, grit guards, use a lambs wool washing pad, Hyper wash from Meguiars, do a version of the wash using a pressure washer and single bucket on occasion, wheels have there own bucket. dry using a absorber towel to soak up the bulk of water on the flat areas then follow with waffle weave drying towels, then use a Metro air force blaster to blow out the cracks, grill, wheels, side mirrors, etc. I know, crazy amount of things going on here but I have a routine and it works like a charm and no one can argue with the results.

Paying two bills every time I want a clean car? Ouch.

I dry the with neither a chamois or a leaf blower. I use micro-fiber cloths specifically for drying the car although I have started to use the blower for wheels.

I have had actual, real chamois leather in the past. Worked very well. Took a long time to dry with it, since it was fairly small. But in the end I started using synthetic, because the fairly expensive chamois smelled bad after a while. But it was so soft, extremely hard to scratch paint with it.

I have considered getting another small chamois leather for my windshield and glass.

Terry cloth towels and a spray bottle; almost every time I drive this time of year. Paper towels for the glass.

Hi,

Wash the car myself once a week. I use the 2 bucket method, wool wash mitt, turtle wash and wax soap, first do wheels with a sponge and soap, then turtle wax tire and rim cleaner, then wash car, dry with microfiber, I usually use turtle wax metal cleaner/polisher on exhaust tips.

I was glad to read on how to properly wash a car, because I used to use dish soap and cotton bath towels and had a lot of scratches and swirl marks.

I clean the inside once a month with armour all or turtle wax interior cleaner and vacuum out once a week.

Oh yah I use turtle wax ice detailer to keep clean in between washes. Unless it rains or get real dirty and just wait until time to wash.

I also use turtle wax bug and tar remover.

I use turtle wax ice paste wax about every week, but I don't think it is needed. Looks pretty good after wash. Just for something to do. Probably could wax less.

Kevin

Always DIY. 3 buckets, air compressor for tight spots, microfibers, detail spray, the whole 9.

Hi, I was interested in the clay bar and watched some videos online. I was under the impression that you clay bar if you have some problem areas that need attention, but not really sure. What does clay bar do? And should it be used or will it help a new car say less than 1 yr old?

Thanks,
Kevin
