Kooks LT with Borla X-pipe Install (EASY!!)

Installed Kooks 1 7/8" LTs with Borla X-pipe this weekend. First, I can state without any doubt, you do NOT need to remove the starter, the starter heat shield or motor mounts, PERIOD!!

We were also installing a Procharger so the plugs were coming out anyway, but it didn't look like you would need to remove either.

Manifolds came out the top. Driver's side remove airbox and sound tube and unhook steering shaft. Headers slips right in from the bottom.

Passenger side remove coolant tank and valve cover. Manifold comes out the top and header slipped in with a bit of twisting.

Borla X-pipe was welded directly to the cats and clamped at the mid-pipes for easy removal if needed. Required some fitting.

Total time from start to finish including installing new plugs for Procharger: 2 1/2 hours.

Nice I am planning on tackling this project this weekend. LT and full catback, did you need an O2 extender for the LT?

I’m sure it would be, I believe they use the same connection pipes.

It required cutting the connection pipes on the Borla X pipe

I believe Kooks came with the O2 extender but I don't think it was needed. I'll have to check with my son to be sure as he was working on that while I was upfront doing some other stuff.

Kooks do come with extenders. I installed mine but believe I could have gotten by without them
