2017 Camaro SS 1LE Rim Purchase

Hello,

I am trying to get a set of rims (for my Summer Only Tires) from the local Chevy dealership but they can't seem to locate a part number for them without the last 8 of a VIN.

If anyone could help me out here, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Kindest,

Donner

Hello,

Thank you for asking; those are what I am looking at getting if I can't afford to purchase the OEM 1LE rims which to my eyes are slightly different.

Kindest,

23355791 front and 23355802 rear. $795 each plus a $50 core per wheel that you would have to add to that as you are buying these without any core to return, so it works to $845 per wheel.

All the guy at the dealer had to do was show you the wheel listings in the GM parts catalog and you point it out.

you'll be paying $1000 more for OEM vs an identical aftermarket wheel. what are the differences you see?

Hello,

The only thing I can see is the difference of color, and the grand difference is about right. It's not what I can see but whose fault it will be should one of the rims fail or a tire pops off should I ever get driving 'frisky' on the track or something. I like OEM stuff because of the company that makes and supports it.

Kindest,

Donner

Look at a dealership show room, take a pick of the vin and order. Or some dealership's show the vin# on web sites. Just use a vin from there web site or show room and then walk over to parts department.

The offset is also different on OEM rims.

Why not buy "take off" rims with or without tires? You'll save a TON

You'll be lucky and will have to be very fast to get a set of 1LE takeoffs.

If you could find them.
I'd wager most of us with a 1LE on order have no intention to change the wheels any time soon. To get another set of forged wheels in that size would not be cheap.

So order a set of Oem forged set or a set of mmr's non forged replica for less.
