I also had a salesman tell me that 2012 was the only model year that they were going to make ZL1's this past August. He wasn't going to believe me until I showed him other dealerships with 2013's on the lot. I didn't end up buying from this dealership for a multitude of reasons.

The numbers that they have been showing show the C7 beating the C6 Grand Sport. I don't know if they were using the base Stingray or the Z51 for those numbers. I feel that a race, drag or track, between a C7 and ZL1 will be very much a drivers race.

I'd say the Z51 would beat a ZL1. But only truth will tell when they get released. 0-60 in under 4 secs is what they're saying. ZL1 is right at 4.0 secs I've read and 3.9 with the Auto.
