System itself would cost $1,099. You can reply via email if you have any further questions."

This is in line with what others provided here. I will let you know if I proceed.
Is that an actual copy/paste of the email?

You'd think they'd be able to spell better when asking for $1,400.

The follow-up e-mails get worse. I'm pretty sure English isn't that guy's first language.

I wish I could tell you differently but that is an actual cut-and-paste email response from them.

That is great to hear and thanks for the clarification. Glad that GM is building Navs that can be upgraded via SW downloads. Q: Do you know if the screen on these moves up or down revealing a storage compartment behind it? I saw the new 2014 C7 Sting Ray on Leno's Garage and it had this feature. Looked pretty cool.

I saw that Jay Leno Stingray video and I have to agree that was the best feature of the interior which was also stunning. Nope the ZL1 has no such feature.

No, the follow-up e-mails have terrible grammar and misspellings. His last name is Ng...I'm guessing he's Asian, probably very intelligent, but just not strong in English.

In other words, he's a computer geek!

I received an email from Mr. Ng (probably a Cantonese surname)giving me the name and phone number of someone in my area that can install the mocar nav system. I called him today and he sounds nice and fairly knowledgeable. He said it would take around 3 - 4 hours to install and that he would order the parts needed and call me when they arrive. I will keep you updated on my progress.

s/c ss, for your information, I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. The rings I was most used to were on the tops of Iron City cans.

I sure will. My local installer hopefully ordered the parts he needs and will let me know when they come in so that I can arrange a time to get it installed. Further news as it develops.

Well, it took from 01/27 until today, 02/25, to order the parts, get them in and do an install in my car. The actual install took from apx. 11:30am to 4:10pm. While I haven't had much time to play around it seems pretty cool. I was easily able to input my home address and "Samantha", the female voice chosen by the installer, faultlessly guided me home. Seeing the map on a 7" screen is pretty darn cool. I will play with it more and let you know what I think. Oh, the final installed number somehow became $1,480.

I don't suppose it ties into the HUD like the factory system?

Can someone post a picture of how the HUD shows directions? I haven't seen this yet.
