honestly no I don't know about the availability or pricing, from what I have gathered, they deal specifically with dealers (not (just) car dealers but audio system dealers).

I posted the info to contact them, they can provide all the information, from my experience with these types of add-ons to OEM systems I would guess $500 - $750 keeping it competitive with the cost of the OEM pricing, but I am guessing, don't really know.

I found it because I was looking for a way to upgrade to the 2013 MyLink for my 2012, I thought this might be the way, but it requires having the MyLink already so is only for 2013+ cars.

I contacted them and got a response. It is VERY expensive. $1099 for just the system, $1399 for it installed. I was going to do it, and I could swing it if I wanted to, but that just seems outrageous.

Wow, that does seem expensive. I did contact them and will let you know what I find out. Perhaps my existing Garmin 1490LMT is not too bad an alternative, even though the dangling cord is tacky in this super-nice car.

that's an easy fix depending on where you have it installed.

personally I use my Android phone, have a car dock and have it mounted on the dash just right of the gauge pod. I filed a small hole in the center speaker grille, and ran the cable down there, behind and under the console, up into the console compartment and put in one of those cig lighter to usb charger things.

only see about 6" of cord on the dash from the dock to the speaker grille.

if I had a smaller device I would have run it on the left and behind/under the A pillar, but my phone is too big to fit there.

As crazy as that price is, I do like that it's using the OEM equipment. And I'm sure the mentality of the price point is, "Well, if you want a set-up something like the factory set-up, in that you can use the MyLink screen, this is it." I get the feeling I'm probably going to bite on this.

Ouch !!! Sure glad that i just modified my order (dropped the audio upgrade in favor of the nav) ... i'll figure out something later for the sound system ... just waiting for my TPW (2/11?, a build in March will work too) :flag2:

Still considering it. Just having trouble with the cost, from a principle standpoint. I can swing it, but I'm wondering WHY that price point is so high. $1399 for navigation? I get it, it looks like nice software, and seems to blend nicely with the factory unit...but damn that's a lot of coin.

You can not change it out. They where and may still be hard to get, it's a $790 option but would be almost cost prohibitive to add after. It is production only.

I knew the NAV was going to be what people wanted, so I passed up 3 allocations to get it and even offered $3000 over the cost of the NAV AND install my self, was told no that can not be done and I checked everywhere. Now I am not saying it can not be done, but it will not be worth it.
Are they still on constraint?

There were some early 13s that dealers got NAV. I waited extra 3 months to get it and had to do a dealer trade.

this is not something the dealer is ever going to do for you IMO so customer service will say it is impossible.

when I looked into it last just tracking down the parts were a pain because they were using them for production.

the post being referenced is 2010-2011 to nav so 2013 mylink to nav could be easier but it is still a bit of an unknown.

I quit looking into because once you price out the AC/radio bezel the cost climps over 1k imediablty. that piece alone is over $600 if I -remeber right. never got an exact price on the hedunit itself.

I still think this is doable though. It is just going to take someone with the wiring knowlege and willing to spend more than it would cost for aftermarket nav. you could buy the scoshe kit and kenwood or pioneer nav cheaper than the factory retrofit option.

With MyLink, yes. With nav, no. The problem for some is that the units look identical from the outside, and some assume that the big pretty screen means nav is automatically included. It also leads some to assume that nav can be easily added, as the two units look the same. Also wrong.

From what I've seen, mocar is the only company offering an aftermarket option that will allow one to use the factory unit for navigation. And with what they're charging, they seem to know it.
