Sunroof

This picture appears to show the sunroof opening out and over the top (rather than sliding into the roof): http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showpo...7&postcount=34

Based on the roof line, I thought that would be the case, but was hoping it might be the type that slides in.

Or maybe that's another car's roof in the background that looks like the sunroof.. hard to tell.

That destroys headroom especially in the rear seat. With that slammed look GM is in love with on everything outside is better.

It could be just tilted open for vent. This isn't the clearest picture.

The moonroof on the ATS coupe slides into the roof. The 6th gen is built on the ATS coupe platform.

We need clearer pictures than this.

Moonroofs look horrible when they slide on the outside of the roof, and I'll never own a car again without a moonroof after having two cars with them. It affects aerodynamics, and risks more problems with it protruding out like that. I'll take a bit less headroom for my moonroof to slide into the roof.

If you want headroom buy a cargo van.

Some people race their cars on tracks that require helmets. Headroom is necessary unless you are a Midget.

Then buy the damn car without a moonroof, you have that option, that's why GM gave it to you. Besides, if you're tracking you want less weight and moonroof adds weight, so your argument is moot.

I don't think the roofline depth and shape would allow for the sunroof to slide into it - has to be up and out.

Opinion incoming.....

Overall I feel the sunroof destroys the look and feel of this car. It's like looking at a sexy girl or guy. The feet look good, the waist line is great and those shoulders head up to a ugly face.... yup that sexy reverse Mohawk is missing. The agreesive lines gone and they are a must for this car.

Buy the car you want. GM has their reasons for an upwards sliding roof. Which just happens to work out for those of us who OCCASIONALLY track our cars and like to enjoy an open roof when NOT tracking. Its a win/win for us. And MUCH more practical than tracking a "Cargo Van", as you so cleverly suggested...
Sorry you didnt get your way. Lol

The 5th gen has a slide up/out sunroof, the 6th will likely have one similar, like stated; for headroom.

I just wish they would put in the specs that headroom is less with a sunroof...If I recall, they only put out one dimension for headroom, and you are in for a surprise if your car has a sunroof....It's almost a dirty little secret they don't want known...

So wrong imo. Nobody, but nobody ever notices the mohawk. Just look at
your own photos- Can't see it. Besides, the sunroof is about the most
popular option offered on the 5th gen. I believe 1/2 or better have one.

The mowhawk on the 5th Gen is A LOT less noticeable and on the 5th Gen the sunroof works.

The 6th Gen is a different story and the body styling requires the mowhawk to keep that performance look.
