I was going to be a buyer, trade in my '10 for an SS but I will absolutely not buy one with that stupid wing, seemingly ripped off a Honda Civic on it. And how do you clean under that thing? There better be an "Opt out of this ridiculous piece of trash" box to check on the order form or I'm shopping elsewhere.

Seriously, you won't buy a car because it has a wing you don't like?

If its a factory option, just uncheck the wing option. If it standard equipment on the SS, find yourself a sans wing same color entry model Camaro, and swap out the trunk lid. Its not like you are stuck with the wing, there are ways around it. However, wings are there for a reason, they are not aesthetic pieces.

Looks are certainly a subjective thing, but keep this in mind - the SS spoiler has a definite purpose...

You could probably slide a rag between the spoiler and trunk lid. Doesn't seem like that would be too difficult to accomplish.

.I'm wondering if there's any way I can order the v8 but not the ss so as to get by the spoiler. on my charger I've already switched deck lids twice and the last time I went with a specially made spoiler I had to have holes filled and I want to go through that anymore

Not disagreeing with you, but there are numerous pics of Camaros that are either a V-6 or a T-4 that also have that spoiler....Maybe they are more for function on the SS, but also appear on the V-6 convertible....(I doubt that is meant for high speed track handling)....as the non-SS cars do not also have the downforce/track items such as hood vents, and grille design, for example...

Could be eye candy on the non SS cars, as they appear to have both...Even some of the camo'd cars had non SS spoilers....

Just sayin' it may be too early to tell if you can get an SS without that spoiler, as the V-6 looks like it has it as an option, perhaps the case will be the same with the SS....it is not an SS exclusive spoiler...

I don't think the wing is all that bad honestly, but if it were my choice I'd have rather seen some kind of aggressive high dove tail or something to that affect. But I'd happily drive around with it and be perfectly fine for a good while.

Sorry for my honesty, but your rant is ridiculous. There must be other things about the car you don't like, b/c to pass on buying a car only b/c you don't care for a factory wing is just plain....RIDICULOUS!!!

I don't mind that spoiler but just in case anyone wants to keep barfing, here's a very similar design with good aerodynamics...(adds lift, though...not downforce)...It's nothing new, really....lol...

Are you sure that's an SS? Looks like a I4 or V6 with RS package to me.
