Probably not much longer though, if still even. IIRC the last date sold orders for dealers with open allocations could be entered was 2 weeks ago. Production will stop soon but agree it hasn't stopped yet as far as we know.

Upon further research, it appears that you are correct.

Really? I'm happy about the C8 but if 40K units is a "game changer".... we are screwed as enthusiasts.

A damn Toyota Camry sells 10x that.

Also let's not forget that they are counting every REFUNDABLE deposit/reservation in that number. I would not be surprised if 50% don't follow through. They'll still sell the cars as it's the first year but they are overselling the "sold out" line.

It's no game changer , the fact that people see this car as a inexpensive mid engine super car that is sold as a daily driver/grocery getter is damn near funny . Wait till August 15th when the pricing comes out and they will be reminded it's a Corvette . There will be shock .

And it's no surprise they are taking orders before giving pricing... ...to allow the market to set (or at least justify) the prices.

IMO, expect the costs of C8 options to be 10-20% higher than c7.

You are the one who will be shocked, the C8 will have no competition in the 60k range, the 70k range, the 80k range, the 90k range or the low 100k range . The best part is nothing can or will touch the Base C8 for 60K even a Z51 car will be under 70k. Game changer pure and simple

It will outperform every other car in the 60-80k range. ZL1, GT350, Hellcat, Supra, M4, Cayman S, etc. Also take a look at the standard equipment of the 1LT basemodel and how they stepped up the material quality. You have to be an insane fanboy to not concider the C8 above every other car for the price.

A sub 60k C8 will no way out perform Zl1 , the Z51 may be close , neither will come close to a Zl1/1le . Its more then 0 to 60 when it comes to performance. No i'm not sold on the C8 at all ,give me a few years and i may change my mind , as of now it's proven nothing . It is a better looking car than the Camaro , shame it don't come in a manual or a may be a little more interested.

That's why I said 60-80k range, not that the base C8 will outperform them.

1/4 mile, yeah hellcat and ZL1 will win but c8 Z51 will likely best them on the slower road courses running comparable tires
