Regular gas
The gas situation here in central Texas has been bad for past week or so. Gas available at many stations now but only regular 87. I'm trying to conserve this last 1/2 tank of premium but if I can't find it by Thursday I'm gonna have no choice. What damage if any could it do?

Fill it up now that way the octane in the half tank do you have will boost the 87 a bit. Also go to your local parts store I don't know what you have but something in the line of Canadian Tire and pick up some octane booster and put that in as well.
On a side note God bless you guys down there |

Using regular won't do any damage.

One guy on this site has been using regular for the whole year he's owned the car (SS) and claims no problems at all. I don't think you'll get top performance but you won't harm anything.

Drive car like your mom would drive it, and you can put several tanks of 87 in, with no problem.

Side note, Gov Abbott keeps saying we'll see fuel distribution return to normal soon; certainly hope so! I'm just a bit north of Austin and experiencing the same shortages. |

DO NOT use any additives like octane boosters. Just run it on 87. The engine will manage the change in fuel. Tophatplus only uses 87 octane in his SS, no negative results.

If I drove like my mom I'd begin braking about half a mile before every traffic light, go about 20 under the speed limit and not turn my signal on until I was on top of the street I'm turning on to. Lol. She could never understand my love for fast cars.

Open your manual, it says 87 is okay, just may affect the performance a bit.

and also what about Tourmaline or however you spell it? Likewise NOS octane booster? |
