Found the FIRST thing I dislike about my ZL1 - Other drivers - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I realize I drive a car that essentially screams "PAY ATTENTION TO ME", but in the grand scheme of things, when I'm commuting to work, leave me alone.

I just wonder why every jackass with Daddy issues in a "tuned" import with a wing and a fart can muffler OR a tuned Diesel truck wants to run me when I'm just trying to get to work. Surprisingly for me, that is mostly who try to challenge. Mustangs, Challengers, Chargers, etc. so far have just left me alone. As well they should, as I don't give a damn about them, and I don't race on the street (you know, because it's a really stupid thing to do). Granted I do find time to enjoy the car the way it should be (as much as I can, I'm still breaking it in), BY MYSELF.

I didn't buy this car to prove how big my peter is (okay, maybe a little) to every Thomas, Richard and Harold who thinks they can run!

Ugh... rant over. Just had 4 of these types dicking with me on the way to work this morning.

I have not had this problem where I live. Just a few people know what the car is around here because they are few and far between.I had a kid in a mustang pull up next to me at a stoplight and rev his car up several times and when the light turned green he laid the hammer to it and I just rolled off slow but I guess he thought he was a badass.It will happen more I am sure but like you there is no reason to have to prove anything.

Yup, I deal with the same thing. Every night going down the highway I'll get people in mustangs and challengers come racing up next to me looking for a race and I'll just roll my windows up (5% tint) so they can't see me and continue to cruise along. Idiots everywhere.

Funny thing, I have a tuned Duramax truck and I get the same crap all the time. Everyone that has a hot-rod or diesel wants to mess with me on the road. My truck is running around 500rwhp and 1000lb/ft of tq. I enjoy the hell out of driving it but not messing with every douchenozzle with something to prove.

I just like horsepower is all

It comes with the territory, so get used to it and ignore them. Besides, it's a good thing they choose to acknowledge the car for what it is.

Sorry that this is happening to you, but people do profile others for what you have/show/behave. ZL1s look/sound aggressive/fast, yes you will get the attention of every single ricer in the street. just ignore them.

This isn't the first "hot" car I've owned. As an adult, I've owned (all new) a 1996 Impala SS, 2002 Subaru WRX (first in Fairfax, VA), 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T, 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8. But the ZL1 BY FAR has drawn the most attention (obviously). And I've only had it a month!!

I'm really not super upset about it... just this morning they were EVERYWHERE.

it becomes annoying specially with those that doesn't know the rules "don't f.. touch others muscle cars"

The picture thing I was ok until a woman lean/sit on my hood. I told her "You're sexy but get hell off my car"
