Very Disappointed
So let me begin by saying that 3-4 years ago I was dying for being able to purchase my first ever camaro always loved them and finally I was fortunate to purchase on on 10/11 I purchased a 2012 2LS A6 and within 6 months the torque converter went bad so not really worried just thought it was a fluke got it fixed tood 2 damn weeks about 2 months later I traded it for a 2012 1LT/RS and I was in love I have done only appearance mods and CAI I have had the car since 5/12 and 2 weeks ago thats right you guessed it the torque converter went bad 2 weeks have gone by and i'm finally picking it up today. I am so frustrated at first I thought it was me doing something wrong but I Never took either vehicle over 70 for the first 1500miles and was very careful with the break in period on both vehicle's. Problem is I am stuck with this car because I owe to much on it so as of right now I just dont enjoy my car I mean for god sakes they are brand new cars my 1st car only had 5500 miles and my current car only has 7000miles only just shouldn't happen...Very disappointed in GM and the Camaro sorry I know alot of you will disagree but stuff like this just shouldn't happen to new vehicles thank God for Warrenties.
Thanks for letting me vent...Oh and also it has prevented me from doing the Mods I really want in fear of it breaking down... |

Dont worry man I know how you feel, ive had a huge list of problems with my car as well. Only difference is they cant use the "its a new car" excuse in terms of its failures.
I just found out today about the converter issue with the new V6. Problem with the old v6, LLT was it eating oil and blowing. Really sucks dude, I know the feeling but hopefully this fix works for good and youll be good to go

You have a right to be pissed. I would be too. But I have a very early 2010 SS and all is good. Only thing replaced on warranty was the driveline at 36K miles, now has 57K miles.

2 different cars, and you had torque converter failures on both of them?
You sure it isn't your driving style? Not trying to start an argument, just trying to get a handle on this. This is the fist I've heard of this issue. If your batting 2 for 2, just think how wide spread this problem must be?

Enjoy your car, dont let a few issues ruin it, it has a good warranty if it breaks.

Not driving style, it's a well known issue. In fact they kept trying to tell me that is the noise I am hearing from the front end when I go over bumps, "like when i go over a rumble strip". Apparently, I mentioned the word rumble strip and that caused customer service to tell the dealer it is my transmission since there's a TSB for the torque converter that references rumble strip like sounds.
Anywho....good luck. It's a great car and engine otherwise. You might get better feedback in the lfx forum Last edited by blackswan; 01-12-2013 at 08:57 AM. |
