I already change it early...used to be about every 5000 miles & it was usually around 25% on the oil life when I changed it...I'll probably just switch to a 3000 change now that I'm driving the shorter distance

I beat the hell out of my LLT 6 Speed....I have 43k and a bunch of mods I change the oil every 5k or when I need to and my car turns on the same way every time and still performs for me every day I drive 17miles to work and 17miles back Monday thru Friday never ever had a issue and I live in Miami where the traffic lights are abundant...car has never sputtered or left me on the side of the road due to a engine problem I love my 6 and I hope I get to enjoy her for a long time!

Sitting at 38k miles and I drive in a manner that could be called spirited. No problems so far. Knock on wooooooooooooood. Honestly, car runs as good as she did the day I got her!

Only problem I have had thus far was the radiator fan burned out. Nothing more.

Confession time on how I drive my Camaro.............

58k miles to date

155 passes at the 1/4 mile track

70 mile round trip commute daily.

Some "spirited parade" laps at the local road course.

Fuel economy over over 30 plus MPG on the highway.

Here are a few notes from my spreadsheet of tracking information.

1st Avg. fuel economy per month.

2nd Avg. MPG during my commute at different times of the year.

3rd my oil change record.

Only issue to date is the front cover had a leak back at 27K miles.

wow...if I was the shop's GM I would print that from FB and seriously reprimand someone. It's held in court that what you say on social media sites with your name attached can be held as evidence with an employer.

Thanks.........

I think I have more spreadsheets than I have years on this planet. And to think I am closing in on that half century mark next August.

Let's see,

Snowmobiling, bowling, camping, finance, purple heart, softball, swimming, volleyball, basketball, truck, trail blazer, Saturn, cobalt, tractor, .........well you get the point. And each of those have many tabs...........

Wow! I'm impressed! I thought I kept a lot of info on my Camaro but I don't create charts, graphs & spreadsheets. I had a 70 mi round trip commute for the first 2 years I had my Camaro but she sits in the garage much more now than I'd like. The roads & parking situation really suck at my workplace & she is safer at home. So now that I have a garage & another car to use as my daily driver, I keep her at home & drive her to work only occasionally & as much as I can on weekends. I need to count up how many passes on the 1/4 mi & 1/8 mi tracks I have done. I have saved all my time slips. Only 3 times around autocross tracks at the fest (1 year before last & 2 this year). I have not been shy about pasing slow pokes during my comutes/drives. I have not babied her. She has a few mods & more on the way. I have had zero mechanical issues. She has never burned or lost a bit of oil. Only problems have been a broken part on the driver's seat & a TPMS sensor that stopped working. I'm not complaining.

I'm with you there. 55K on mine with no worries. I even put a bore scope down the intake, clean as a whistle and no catch can. I can't understand why all these guys are having so many problems. Maybe they need to be a little nicer to their cars??

My LLT blew after 85,00 miles only 20 or so minutes after getting my oil changed due to there being no oil at all before the oil change. yet my car read 50% oil life left. It was 6,000 miles from my last change, a little to far I know, but I don't think it should've blown after 6,000. Anyways I'm getting a LS3 here as soon as my car gets its new engine in so I won't have to worry about these problems anymore.

Oil life and oil level are two different things. The oil life monitor simply takes a lot of inputs, runs them through an algorithm, and estimates the "life" left in the oil you have. You have to use the good old dipstick if you want to know how much oil you have left. Check the level every other trip to the gas station and you will know if you need to add some before it gets dangerously low.
