That is why when GM gave me a buyback, I took a 45th anni coupe instead. Not one issue.

I picked up car today, wind noise seemed better than before and rear window no longer grinds.
That's the good news..

Bad news.. the first time I put top down, I hear a violent pop. At first i thought 5th Bow, but that looks fine. It looks like the top tore/popped out of place by the front driver side corner. So its Back to the shop again on monday!! Now to make the call to the district specialist...

where do they get these tech, dont they have to go to school or something? im sure if its not the 5th bow its something they screwed up while fixing the grinding window, you were better off with the grind then letting the dealer screw with your car, do these dealers get better money with warranty work than regular drive ups?? because it seems they tear up more stuff on warranted cars than others!

i dont think its a POS i love mine, it can be fixed, GM just needs to get off their azzes and show the dealers how to propery work on these cars and get them fixed, the dealers are doing more damage by trying to fix something that they have no idea how to fix.

Is there any way an administrator could start a thread they control & start listing all the TSB's that are out so we can all stick together & go
after GM to get these issues fixed. Tran or The Viz
I know for my car, I have not recieved anything yet.
I also don't have enough miles on mine to have any top issues either.
Just an idea ? ? ? ? ?

heres is my update. I took the car back into the dealer, and showed them the rough shim, and where I beleive the roof was starting to rip. I also showed them where inside headliner had been lifted away from the base of the roof.. (Just an aside, the delarer has been great so far, so no negatives towards them) the Engineer that worked on my car. told me that the rough shim, was normal, and was intended by GM based on the latest TSB and that the inside headliner was pulled up per TSB. The engineer told me he thought the GM fix of filling the shim, and pulling headliner up a bit was silly, and that he didnt do the passenger side, because he felt that it would do no good. The dealer took some photos, and will show them to the GM rep that comes down on WED/Thurs this week to see what they say. I still have an open case with GM, and have a follow up call with the district specialist on wed. Im not holding my breath at this time..

also, have the rub marks issue. although I'll live with it..
If your dealer is doing everything they can, timely, I guess continue to work with them. Personally, I'd be a ticked if my car was in the shop that much brand new.

I have not filed a claim yet with the BBB. I am allowing my, possibly misguided, faith in the system to to allow this to be worked through.
As an update, the District specialist called this morning, and I made him aware of the newest issues, he told me he had no update at this time, but hopes to have new info for me on Friday. So, its just wait and see. Luckily its not warm enough to ride with top down, so my fear on raising lowering the roof and any damage it my cause is a bit tempered.

Just received this email from my dealer..

"I had a chance to talk with our rep about your convertible top. He is willing to replace the top but advised to wait until GM gets the top right. He had a similar situation at another dealership and replaced the top but the replacement fabric is not right and is too tight. He did also address getting some trade assistance if you would like to trade up to a newer model that is something he can work on as well. If you have any questions please send me an email or give me a call.

If you haven't already, get some sort of long term warranty extension on just your top. Of course, get it in writing.
