2016 Camaro 2SS How do you like the Bose Stereo
Hello,
Was wondering if the Bose audio is any good in the Camaro 2SS? I have heard that it isn't very good but wanted to get some opinion on the forum as I trust owner's reviews. Thanks |

Honestly I think it's the normal speakers with bose slapped on the side. Very disappointing. I was looking forward to them but they are muddy and bass bloated.

I think I made off better by installing aftermarkets with the amp...cost around 1400. I heard the bose systems and was disappointed at the dealer so I opt not to pay for them

Wow this is too bad I had a Bose system in an old Corvette and it was great not awesome but I loved it and didn't ever feel the need to replace it. Thanks for all the input I appreciate it.

The 2lt Bose system rocks... or at least I rock it daily... loudly.

I'm fine with the audio on my 2LT. As far as I know there are no differences in the system between a 2LT and 2SS. It is not an audiophile grade system for sure but then again, the inside of a car - and particularly our cars is by no means an ideal listening environment. There is enough road noise in the car that it limits my ability to pick out any glaring deficiencies in the audio. Understanding of course that I am also accepting of compressed audio sources like MP3.
I think the bottom line is that audio is one of the individual, personal preference items that you will be best served to find a way to listen for yourself and decide. Go to your local dealer and see if you can get a demo, or better, find an owner near you and see if they can give you a demo. That way you get all the benefits of the demo without the hassles of a dealership visit. |

This gen camaro rattles quite a bit when you take it over about say 30%, I've found myself having to turn down the bass at times to keep it from sounding very muddy. Not the best system I've had in a car.

2SS Stereo
The Bose is OK, but not great. With the volume up to just below 1/2, you get bass rattles in the interior and the highs are not too clear. I have a KEE audio speakers in my 2000 Z28, and I like them better. The Bose in the 2SS is probably better than the system in the 1SS

Something to keep in mind is that the Bose system is less "upgrade friendly" than the non-Bose. You can get something close to a line level signal off the non-Bose amp. With the Bose, all the low level audio signal is digitally encoded. |

I think the bose in my 2SS is actually pretty good. You have to get the audio tone settings just right to make it sound best though. If anything its only missing that real low end punch of a sub woofer. I typically upgrade the stereo first in any car that I buy. But I don't see the need to upgrade in this car, so I guess that means its pretty good.
Now if you are used to thousands of dollars worth of stereo upgrades in your past vehicles you are not going to think the bose is very good. These are all subjective views. |

I was kind of bummed out when I heard it in the convertibles. I went from a 2012 to a 2016 and the stereo in the 2016 is not as good as the 2012. I think the big difference is that in the 5th gens the convertibles used to get a dedicated subwoofer behind the rear seats. You can definitely hear the difference on the 2016 without the dedicated sub. I will probably go aftermarket once my warranty is out. Still waiting for the someone to mass produce a good sub box for the convertibles too.
