When they advertise the weight it is the 1SS

When they advertise the weight it is the 1SS. The 2SS obviously weights more because it has more components and wires to things.

This is something that is barely talked about, but because everyone is always complaining about weight.

I'm not saying there will be or won't be, but why are you so sure?

I interpreted Al's statement to mean 1SS would lose 200+ lb compared to a comparable 2015 1SS and that a 2SS would loose 200+ lb compared to a 2015 2SS model.

I think your point might be that if people are really concerned with weight, they'd go with the 1SS since 2SS would likely be a little bit heavier.

GM has tended to use language like 'trim for trim' or 'equivalent models' when talking about the weight loss. To me, that would mean 1SS to 1SS & 2SS to 2SS.

But even if it is 2SS to 1SS, there's not that much difference between a 1SS & 2SS. Currently, GM lists the weight of the 2015 1SS as 3908, while the 2SS is 3935. I can't see the difference in the 6th gen changing by very much so it should probably still fall in the 25-30 lb range.

What prevents a 2016 2SS from being lighter than a 2015 2SS? Unless the standard equipment is substantially heavier in the 2016, it will still benefit from the weight loss from the new car.

If my fat @$$ can lose 50lbs, then it will help.
