Put a bid in for an SS with low miles, if not upgrade the sound system and put the rest in the bank.

Hmmm...Upgraded factory exhaust (done), Color matching bowties (done), Add SS badges to the fenders, 1.25" lowering springs, possibly change the wheels or powdercoate the stock ones, blackout the side makers, add more Inferno Orange accents to the interior on some knobs and center console, add some chrome under the hood, add some bass to the great stereo system....after these things are done then I'm sure I'll already have another list going that I can work on next...lol.

I refuse to give the Government a interest free loan with my money; therefore I never get a refund! Mismanagement of finances is what leads to refunds.

Depending on how much I get back. I want lowering springs/sway bars, ZL1 spoiler and the ACS front end splitter and the ZL1 hood. We shall see how much I get back but I have to wait to get my W2!

This. But sometimes it's not a matter of poor management, but simply financial ignorance. I've actually heard people say theythought they were doing something wrong if they were not getting a refund!

I'd bet you a lot of the people getting IRS refunds are the same ones who will finance a new car purchase with the 60 or 72 month payment option.

True! Also nothing wrong with getting a 60 or 72 month loan if it's a 0%.

Found this:
Which do you prefer for your annual tax obligation – to pay or to receive?

As I already mentioned, I would prefer for my taxes to zero out every year. But no matter how much effort I put into it, I don’t see that happening because our situation changes throughout the year.
Some people prefer to owe a lot of money to the IRS. They prefer to use the money throughout the year and are not giving the IRS an interest free loan. The only downfall is coming up with the cash in April, which some people have a hard time doing.
Some people prefer to receive a large refund every year. They look at it as a forced savings account. Even though many people know they are giving the government an interest free loan, they don’t mind because they have a hard time saving on their own and look at a large tax return as “bonus money.” I had a good friend who did this every year. At least he knew he didn’t have the discipline to save on his own.
If you can’t make it zero out, at least get it close. A couple hundred bucks in either direction is usually the best bet. you don’t give the IRS too much of the money you could have had working for you, and you don’t end up owing them too much either.

My family always buys cars with the 60 month option. We always have great credit, so the total amount we pay more isn't a whole lot
(like 25810.80 total pay back vs. 25447.68)

To pay nearly 100 less a month, we gladly pay one more year if it only 400 more total in the long run.
