I would change it just because as stated above, the oil gets contaminated and acidic and after sitting so long and some moisture accumulated, I wouldn't run it through my engine. Safe insurance for sure. I change mine every 3500 miles no matter how much I drive her.

Even with synthetic oil, car manufacturers recommend an annual oil change.

I always do mine shortly before winter storage, rather than at the beginning of driving season, so that the oil sitting over the winter is dry and clean.

I greatly appreciate the responses from the Camaro community. I'm scheduled to have it changed tomorrow afternoon.

As everyone else said, I change it once a year regardless of miles. My Camaro is stored in a temperature-controlled garage and I still do it once a year.

I drive it about 1000 miles a year and always use Mobil 1 extended performance oil and filter that's good for a year or 15k miles (whichever comes first).

Last 2 summers I've driven my 2015 2SS less than 400 miles each year. Still change it in the fall right before I stop driving it. Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 oil filter, 55.00 at Walmart.

Actually, I knew it was under 100 miles per month, which is the reason that I mentioned less than 1,200 miles, but when I arrived at the dealership, I learned it was under 500 miles. I really need to drive it more.

Also, Chevrolet sent a $15 discount oil change coupon and I guess the dealership had some other discount, because I only paid $35 for the Mobil 1 synthetic oil change. I felt sorta embarrassed for having used the coupon once I learned the price.

I buy my Mobil 1 at Walmart in the 12 quart W/the plastick container and a pour spout for $47. Then I get the rebate coupons off the coumputer. Send them in with the receipt for the oil and Mobil 1 oil filter and get $12 back.

Do it right and don't be cheap and the inside of your engine will look like this at 100,000 miles!
