Am I overwashing?

I've only had my red hot Camaro for a little over a month so it feels like every bit of dust is making it look bad so I keep washing (or wanting to wash) it. It doesn't help that our air has been really dirty recently so it is only looking clean for a day or two until the color is noticeably dull. I've already washed the car about 6 times and I'm somewhat becoming obsessed over how clean it is haha.

I'm just curious though, is washing more than once per week ok?

That car is your baby and you love it, wash it as much as you want ! Twice a week is not a bad thing and you will slow down a little in time. If you have not yet waxed the underside of your hood and trunk, you really don't qualify as obsessed yet.

It's not a problem as long as you are using the correct methods, soaps, etc.
I would start out by a light polish and then wax. If the paint isn't too swirled or scratched, then a good wax. Wash with a PH balanced soap and a good wash mitt. Work your way from the top down. In between washes, you can use a quick detail to keep it clean, just use quality microfiber towels. You can spray wax after each wash as well to keep up with protection.

Welcome to the detailing forum... Lots of material to read here about what products to pick from and how to use them with proper techniques. Follow these and there is no problem washing the vehicle everyday. Use poor techniques and you will soon see the results of your labor.

Does anybody recommend any certain drying towels? I seem to keep using ones that completely blow...or can I just use a leaf blower??

Use the master blaster and finish up with a micro fiber drying towel or two.

You can use an electric leaf blower, never gas.

Best drying towel is Microfiber Madness Dry Me Crazy. There is also a sticky at the top with a product recommendation list where I already typed that.

I use gas, doesnt hurt a thing. The only problem you can potentially have is if the blower is running too rich since its a 2 cycle engine, if its running too rich it can blow tiny specks of oil onto your paint so be careful and make sure you run the gas blower lean, which means less oil mixed with the gas. If its a 4 stroke engine blower you have no worries...

But even after I am done using the blower on my Camaro I always use some detail spray to go over the entire car when I am done.

Oh I see...I have such hard water where I live that having no spots left on the paint is a difficult thing to achieve...I like the blower idea lol
