First time tracking - oils/fluid question/confusion? help

In light of the upcoming Camaro Fest, I want to be prepared. I have 4100 miles on it and will be competing in the road course events. That said, I There are what seems to be many different discussions of which I seem to be confused. Before I dump some odd oil in my car, I want to be Crystal clear. So the owners manual states this.... "
6.2L (LT1) Engine
Change the engine oil to 0W-40 or
5W-40 that meets the dexos2

specification. If this oil is not
available, the following oils can be
used as an alternative: Valvoline
®

SYNPOWER MST 5W-40, Mobil
® 1
ESP Formula M 5W-40. See

Capacities and Specifications 0 3 "

I'v e searched the entire internet on 0w40 and 5w40 that meets dexos2 and none that I can find. I also want to stick with mobil1. Moving on to the next alternative. I see that the mobil1ESP formula M 5w40 which is: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003EQ9QAW...g%3Dwhois03-20 it seems like its geared towards Diesels? the heck??? if that's accurate, I want to be clear before I use this.

2) also, I plan on flushing my brake fluid out with Dot4. what are you all using? I see some people using Motol? How many qts are you putting in and what's your process of flushing? I'm guessing a turkey baster, and putting in DOT4, then flushing via the calipers?

3) Transmission. Since I have an M6, and according to the owners manual, (again would like to stick with Mobil1, but seen some people use others, rather than the GM brand. what are you using and why? the notchyness doesn't bother me like some do.

Rifling through the other countless threads and the confusion this holds. Also looking at the owners manual and what it states, the rarity of this type of oil is no joke. So I found a napa store somewhat close that had the Valvoline SynPower MST 5W40 oil
https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/VTN966?ref=MA==
Now on with the rest of this project.

Am I missing something? I can get 5W40 Dexos 2 from Amazon any time. It is not cheap but available.

https://www.amazon.com/Motul-X-CLEAN...ds=5w40+dexos2

My Question is, can I go to my dealer and will they have 5W40 DExos2 oil? I prefer to do it at the dealer to keep the warranty relationship going.

Has anyone gotten a dealer to do an oil change with either 5W40 or 0W40 Dexos 2 with the dealer supplying the oil?

But yes, I wanted something that the owners manual states and seen another thread that used the Motul oil. While that may work. I'm really anal.

.

From what I understand from other threads similar, Dexos 2 is 2 parts, one being more for European engines and/or Diesels. This is what I meant by finding the right specifications here. Seems like no one (outside what you just found as I found the same thing) has them. Hence why my second and third options according to the 2016 owners manual. But if the mobil1 15W-50 is what I can use (again its different between the years, but same engine) I'd love that.

We run either 0/40 euro spec Mobil1 or 15/50 Mobil1 in the cars we prep for VIR. GM says 15/50 of the LS7 and such so why not for other GM engines.

Note: the 0/40 goes in race motors and most Porsche cars.

The dealer will not have dexos 2 in 5w-40 or 0w-40 in stock 99% of the time. If your service manager wants to keep your business they will go and purchase your specified oil to keep you as a customer. At least that is my experience at my local dealer's service department.. I'm getting ready to go in for my second 5w-40 MST oil change

Do you think that will be true now that 0W-40 Dexos 2 is the only oil approved for the 2019 Corvette by GM and is what GM is requiring dealers to put in the Vettes?

Also, Should I change my oil at 500 miles and diff fluid at 1,500 miles prior to tracking, or can I do both say around 1,000 miles in one shot? I can't see anything magical about 500/1,500.

Other stupid question. Does the LT1 in the 1LE has dry sump? I thought it did, but I don't see a remote reservoir like the one on the Corvette Z51/Grand Sport.

not sure where your current milage is, but I did my first oil change at 700, then again at 3000. From that I do it once a year. but if your tracking the car, I would do the oil change/fluids that you describe prior to tracking and after. Granted it may be a bit much, but I'm anal when it comes to all this, hence why my starting of this thread.
And no the LT1's IE: 1LE does NOT have a dry sump.

Not sure about the 0w-40 and vettes. I had the dealer change rear end fluid and 1st oil change at 1500 miles. Both came out very clean, no visible particles. Hope that helps.

Yes, that is what I'm thinking. I have 420 miles now (bought last Thursday). I have a month till first track day. I think I will be ˜1,000 miles just before - so was thinking of doing the oil and rear end change then at the same time. Hopefully they will have 0W-40 oil by then.
