17 ZL1 what a car....

MRC for the track or drag strip or both?
I know that MRC offers better handling on the track by adjusting for road conditions, but I mostly race on the drag strip. Is MRC only for track use or is there a benefit to having it for the quarter mile/street racing (in a straight line)?

The perks of MRC are not going to been seen on straight line tracks. It's meant to adjust to curves, bends, bumps etc...

A softer setting could help with weight tranfser/launch.

Cant think of any obvious benefit. One possible negative on the strip might be the added weight of having it when every pound counts.

I think the launch control of the ZL1 took advantage of the MRC to increase traction for drag strip runs. I think there was a setting in the traction control system that was optimized for the strip. Saw a video somewhere where it was explained.

I have heard of this too. Not sure if it's true or not

IDK, don't really see MRC helping much for WOT sprints to the 1320. Maybe set it to the softest setting, like having adjustable shocks, will yield a better launch?

Yea there was a thread not long ago about MRC not having a dedicated "drag" mode. Don't think it will hurt but not going to make a real difference I bet.
Here's the thread: Discussion came up over the GT350s drag mode. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...light=MRC+drag

My vote would be no benefit, unless as stated, there is a drag mode, which purposefully loosens up the rear suspension upon launching for best traction. That could be a possibility, but it hasn't been announced, so I doubt we will see it.
So far, I think the modes are Ice, normal, sport, and track.

GM did come up with an update to add "Rough Track" mode for the ZO6. So yes it is possible.

Lol there is a reason drag races run drag racing shocks tuned to there car. If GM set up the MRC with a DR mode it would be the ultimate set up ever for a street car that hits the 1320.

By the time most racers are switching to drag shocks they are running DOT slicks which can actually take real advantage of the weight transfer. I'm not seeing a mode to promote weight transfer on street tires won't help, but it's not going to make a huge difference either.
