Yeah, I am also a tall drummer lol, and If I could fit my entire drum kit in my 4th gen using the back seat and rear deck, then it MUST fit in the 5th gen. And I have no problem with head room in my 4th gen, or when Ive sat in a 5th gen. 6'3" here |

Well if the suppliers of the Dodge parts didnt think they were made of gold it would be better. Sheeeeet, you could have the same part in a Ford, Chevy and Dodge and that supplier will make sure that part is 100 times more for the Dodge. And damn, the parts markup at the counter!!! Wheeeewww, thats a whole different story.

The lowly GT has matched your 12.2 stock (with stock tires) as well...so I would call a 392 vs GT 5.0 a drivers race with edge to the 392. I would say the camaro gets the most attention. Sales would tend to agree. Challenger is not far behind though...good looking car. Last edited by ULTRAZLS1; 11-22-2011 at 03:20 PM. |

Cartek went 11.0 @ 128. H/C stock bottom end. They had a fast 102 but no 102 TB...that is another 10hp on the table as well. Still also using ported stock castings...another ~15 hp on the table. They couldnt cut a 60 better than 1.65 due to clutch issues.. They should be mid 10's eventually. 3800lb race weight (just wheels and tires with passenger seat removed) and a stick.

I started my performance car addiction young with a 1968 HEMI Dodge Charger. The LX and LC platforms were the second Muscle Car we added to Pedders USA portfolio. We have a Petty built Challenger that we partnered on to create a road course version. Done up like out Pedders USA Camaro and Mustang we are pulling 1.4 Gs with it. That is a hair better than what we get out of the Camaro and about a hair and a half better than the Mustang. Long story short, we know all three platforms intimately.
Here is the break down. Camaro IRS is the best rear suspension of the group. The Challenger / LX/C has the best front end geometry. The Mustang is the lightest and it shows on all tracks. Overall, the best chassis in terms of geometry is the Challenger with a competent IRS and upper front wishbone style control arms. When they are all built to the max, they run so close together it is hard to believe. Out of all the late model cars I have been involved with my favorite is the Camaro. The Camaro had the best combination / balance of the three. None of the three own any of the other two. Take it leave it I can support all of this with page after page of testing and track documentation. I wanted to get this posted in the thread before the Mods lock it due to unpleasant behavior |

Woah, what? I thought 12.3x was the hero run for the 5.0L! The only notable video of a 5.0 running 12.2 that I recall was one with DRs, and IIRC it was the awesome man himself, wbt, that posted it.

Finally somebody else that knows the real deal. The best time BONE STOCK for the BOSS is 12.3 @ 116, the best for the GT500 is 12.08 @ 118 and the best for the 392 is 12.25 @ 113.86. I know the best 5.0 run is in the 12.5-6 range. This is all on the STOCK TIRES!!!!! SO I guess that jerkoff doesnt know what he is talking about. And as for the 2011-2012 Viper deal. Yep youre right, I cant buy one of those but I can buy the MANY 2010's that are still on the lots.

I understand the 392 has +30hp and +90tq advantage, but that still isn't enough to overcome the quarter of a ton the Challenger is lugging around! |

Whuuut?? I paid 45k OTD for my 392.....The Boss's that were on the lots here were going for 55k+ OTD. I dont doubt that a modded 5.0 can beat my stock 392 either. I have a bunch of friends with the 5.0. Some modded ones can beat me and some cant.

Dont get me wrong the challenger is a great car. Im a fan of all the muscle cars but we all know that its 460+ hp (we all know its underrated) barely makes up for the 600 lb difference. Dont you need 10rwhp to make up for 100 lbs? Everyone has great vehicles out at this time and i'd be proud to own any muscle car out there. |
