I checked the order books for every model year, and you're incredibly unfortunate here: 2016-2019 and 2021-2023 all have wireless charging as standard ("S") for the 2LT, the 2SS and the ZL1, but for MY 2020 this feature was only offered with the ZL1 (presumably due to parts shortages).

Not sure if it can be retrofitted into the 2020 2SS, might be worth at least a call to the dealership.

Wireless charging is useless if you have iPhone Max. GM didn't get with the times and update the wireless charger still the same from 2016 initial design.

The most honest things about comparing 1SS vs a 2SS is what things are the most important to you and can you live without the tech stuff in the 2SS or are they irrelevant to you. Are you looking for a certain budget or good with going $5k more for the 2SS. Ambient lighting, HUD, Leather, Heated & Cooled seats, and Heated steering wheel in the 2SS are all nice to have. A couple of those things listed should have been standard on the 1SS by this point especially with the LT1 trim being around however GM likes to keep their trim levels in the Camaro more separated than they do their other vehicles.

If this car is in Florida year 'round, the $7k seems pretty steep. Like others, I recall the difference as ~$5k, but I guess GM is gouging as they end production of this car.
Guess it comes down to dual climate, the Bose stereo, some safety features, and leather seats. You won't be using the heated stuff, and the ventilated seats are probably underpowered for Florida.
There are many threads on audio upgrades, which will not cost you $7k even if you pay a shop to do it.

As a new 2SS owner these are the features I really enjoy:
1. Wireless Charging (I have iPhone 12)
2. Ventilated seats (they get kinda cold, even in FL)
3. Blind spot detection (Very helpful in FL with all the numbskulls on the road)
4. Spectral Lighting (I know that's lame but it's kinda cool)
5. Bose Radio
6. Rear park assist (useful when backing her into the garage)
7. HUD

Features I could live without:
1. Camera mirror (wear glasses and it messes with my eyes sometimes)

I did not trim anything but I even took my Samsung Galaxy out of the case and it would not charge. I keep it in the case all the time and have a wireless charging pad at home. It works perfectly and charges fast. I envisioned being able to put my phone on that pad while driving and it working like my home pad.

As far as having to trim something, if you are selling me on it and I am paying for it why should I have to modify anything?

It is useless.

To you, but not to many others.

Just my 2 cents...
Isn’t that silly? My iPhone 14 fits if you take the pad off.
