Super 44's Cabin Volume
Hello all,
I have an L99 and was looking at adding a set of Flowmaster Super 44's and possibly and X pipe to get rid of the huge resonator. I was just wondering if anybody has done something similar with the Super 44's (custom setup) and if so what are your overall thoughts? Also, how is the cabin volume? bearable? |

I had the Super 40's on a nissan titan. I went with the super 40 over the regular 40's because they put more of the sound out of the back with less drone on the inside. I haven't dealt with the 44's though. I'm currently running catless straights off of TSP headers, but left the resonator so I can pass inspection. After my cam install in November I'm going to probably buy the Lingenfelter axle back exhaust. They are made by Corsa to Lingenfelter's specs and like the Corsa they don't have any drone.

Even with only my resonator I still have drone but it doesn't bother me as I love how my car sounds right now.

Muddflap, you did a muffler delete and kept the resonator?

Yes.... The inside of the resonator is wavy so it doesn't do much of restricting and it will count as a muffler at inspection time.

I did the res delete, and 3' tubing with X pipe, and switched to super 44s', from magnaflows ( the flows are deeper and more throaty sounding to me )
Mine is an L99, so I had to get Teds JDE tune. (that AFM was driving me nuts with the res delete.) it does have some cabin noise, but I love it. I wanted my Camaro to be more like my old 1990 Camaro z-28, and stock DID not cut it. Shame on GM for quieting down this car so much. |

danl, any chance you have a video of your setup? I'd love to hear how it sounds as I am looking at doing the exact same thing.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how loud is the cabin volume? |
