I think you are under the impression that "ram air" means pressurized (ie: boosted) air, when it does not. It is simply a style of intake that forcibly, maneuvers the air into the engine by a scooped passageway.

You can see the tubes where the foglights used to be. This is the tubing I used: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/spe-9751/overview/ The chrome elbow war $20 or so, the y-piece was from spectre as well. The entire thing was well under $100. Good for roughly 20-30hp.

I would have got one.
I found out they don't support 2013. I looked at the new ERA OTR, and liked it. . until I saw the price! hahaha |

Love mine, wouldn't get any other intake out there with the heat we see in AZ.

Anyone had any contact with Vararam about completing their 12+ unit? There haven't been any updates in 2x1500 years.

I would agree 100% with this. But the OP asked a question, and I gave MY answer and reasons why. It's not everyone's answer, obviously. Many users like yourself bought and are happy with the Vararam. Many claim seat-of-the-pants results. Others claim better track times. Wonderful! Can't argue with that. Tampa Tuning above has stated it "pulls the average numbers" after dyno tuning, and in the quote i used above, Jannetty stated that he's had good luck tuning with this intake. Clearly it does its job with tuning. I have never said it was a bad intake. All I said was they market their intake with the idea of "ram air," which I don't believe in, and that they have refused to allow dyno testing of their product, which is important to me. I'm glad you're happy with your Vararam.

Its a cai! As long as it doesn't have a k and n in it they all work pretty much similarly! Even the k&n has its upside as it performs better than stock but heat soak and not being able to successful seal the filter from the engine bay is what makes it a "not so great" intake. I for one hate the way vararam lies in the market but it was the best intake for my racing application which dropped my ets and bumped my mph(going from k&n to vr) so for me it works, but on the other hand they should really cut the advertising crap of 40+HP gains that's

Im thinking at 100+ mph theres going to be some wind forced into the air box..or are turbos and blowers a hoax?
