^^^ I'm guessing we'll see a refresh for the 3 model year for the 6th gen.

But IF this IS a Z/28, I would bet $$$ that they use the standard headlights from the LT model. |

But just as the dealers back in the day having a hard time selling those ZL1's to the general public......so did the current day dealers with the Z/28....perceived value by the unsuspecting general buyer especially if the rated hp was only like 5-10 more than the cheaper big block. They had no clue.

A Z/28!!!???
Woowwweeeeeee!! lol. OK....calming down. In all seriousness, this is un-expected. I'm still not fully convinced its a Z/28, although when you see the big wing, the very little amount of wheel gap, and the last gen Z/28 wheels, the base headlights, all of that would make one think this really is the 6th gen Z/28, and that's how I lean thus far. With the way the 1LE is certain to perform, and now the magnificent ZL1 coming our way, I just really thought that there would be no need...no reason for the Z/28. 1LE will nip at the heals, if not actually beat the GT350TP for thousands less, while the ZL1 should put a hurtin on the GT350R for a few thousand more in cost. If I were in GM's shoes, I would have made a case for a stripper/track focused ZL1, or maybe some sort of "Z07" like package on the car to make the already beastly ZL1 into a track dream. But to see that GM might actually be producing another super high performance track oriented Camaro is really just amazing. I don't see how they can make this thing beat the performance of the ZL1 with the LT1 engine, unless they give us a hipo version of the LT1, or slap the LT4 in this car as well, but just make it another "track only" stripper car. Otherwise, I see no point of an LT4 Z/28, and an LT4 ZL1 if you can option them both out with all the interior goodies. B/c if that's the case...again I go back to my earlier point...why not just create a "Z07" like package for the ZL1 and call it a day? So perhaps we will end up with another "track only" Z/28, but GM will just limit production, similar to the GT350R, which should keep pricing and ADMs high.

1) didn't gm say that the 5gen z.28 was not meant to sell, it was there for people who wanted it, not for people who wanted "the best" (people who only looked at hp, 0-60, creature comforts, etc)
2) didn't Al O say something about looking at the "original z.28 formula if they made a new one? Something about smaller displacement, more track oriented? I'm on my phone or I'd find+ link the threads myself |

Is it just me or do those tires look a little skinny for a Z28?

Here's the ZL1 305s for comparison. The Z/28's look about the same. I know it's not the same angle or distance, but it should be a decent comparison.

Also, look at the difference in wing height. It is about halfway up the back window.

I'm starting to think GM revealed the ZL1 early to make room for the 2017 Z/28 at New York.
Just in time for the 50th anniversary.

I would think that sharing as many parts between the 1LE, ZL1, and Z/28 Camaro will help bring costs down.

I dont know but that rear looks so tall that it can only be one thing. Afterburners to reach time travel speed.
