Be careful around those rear emblems.
I was just at a body shop near my work inquiring about getting a dent removed on my mother's Tahoe when I saw a brand new 6th gen SS without its rear bumper. As I was talking to the guy about my mother's Tahoe, I mentioned how it must suck for the person who owns the Camaro to get rear ended on such a new car. He said he didn't get into an accident, he was walking around the car when his pant leg caught the emblem and partially ripped it off. It put a deep scratch into the paint that couldn't be buffed out.
It'll be interesting to see if this was a freak accident or going to become a common thing.

Really a dumb spot they put these in...
Should be closer to the rear trunk or tail lights. IMHO

So take it off and move it. Mine came off one day after I got the car, and now it's on the far right of the dashboard , looks good. It looks ridiculous on the lower bumper and then tilted to match the curve of the bumper. No matter how you look at it , it looks crooked, the Corvette does the same thing with their stingrays.

We don't really have pictures, so...
I think this will be a common enough issue. It's in a pretty bad location. The SS badge tends to get caught easily on cloth even on my 2011 when I am detailing it, so I can just imagine people having their pants catch this without realizing what's happening. I guarantee that they will eventually relocate the badge in future model year. This was obviously a last minute choice, since some early CTF vehicles had the badge on the trunk instead. |

A person with a brand new car with a deep ugly scratch that can't be buffed out that they can't fix on their own. Apparently the scratch was through the clear, paint and primer. I wouldn't want an ugly scratch on my new car.

hmmm guess I wont be using the car for grocery shopping until I remove that ss emblem and relocate it to the decklid where it belongs. terrible placement by gm, and if this is true, then this is proof.

Hmm...we ordered 500,000 of these emblems and forgot to talk about placement with the marketing group.. where should we put them?
Throws dart at picture of car. Ah.. Perfect!.... |

GM has never been really good at emblem placement from what I have seen. My Cobalt SS had that awful "GM" square logo on the front fenders, totally unnecessary and got taken off the moment I had the car titled.
Much like these new Camaros, that rear emblem could definitely be stuck in a more appealing place. Or, in my preference, eliminated all together. |

The Camaro doesn't need emblems!!! My car is currently naked and if I ever get a 6th gen the 1st thing I'll do is take all the badges off!!

I guess it could be worse. Instead of a removable emblem, it could of been embossed into the bumper
cover.

Wow, you would really have to be leaning into the car to catch your clothing on the emblem. My bet is that this guy made that story up to cover the fact that he tried to remove it himself and scratched his car.
