Seriously though, what percentage of camaro buyers get employee/supplier pricing? Can't be more than 10-20%. Is the 8-10% more in margin that important on those sales? Guess its like any company and depends on the executive management in place and what bonuses they are trying to hit. Gotta get that EBITDA...so no discounts it is!!!

I have a dealer willing to give me employee pricing. Now it may not be official with the number I have to get from my Dad for the authorization, but I will not pay a single cent more than employee price. I have not ordered yet, so they may change their tune, but no discount, no sale, period!!

And that is what I am counting on, or I walk.

This is an absolute idiotic move by GM. Demand for the 5th Gen was insane, and employee discount was available immediately on the 5th Gen. You start off by pissing off what should be your most loyal base of customers, your employees and their families.

It looks like several potential buyers are upset that GM is doing what it said it would several weeks ago by treating the 2016 Camaro the same as it does every vehicle it sells as regards Pricing Plans at the introduction. As I recall a few of us have posted this would happen, myself included. This is how pricing plans have been since as far back as I can remember with one exception. And remember, Supplier Pricing is more than Dealer Invoice Pricing when finalizing your purchase.

Where is the GM article that discussed this?

No GM article I have seen. My reference was to posts I made about the time the order bank opened, in which I said the absence of an announcement that Pricing Plans would be in effect from the beginning meant (to me) that there would be the normal three to six month delay. I was roundly condemned for so posting, including by thebeeswax. I have tried to remind forum members of what is normal since.

Then, about a month ago, BeckyD posted the dealers had been so notified. But no official GM press release.

If you ask that question in Michigan, the percentage will be around 60-70%, I think.

Hopefully by next June Supplier / USAA will ok. If not, well... as much as I like it, it's not the only fish in the sea.

I predict Pricing Plans will be available by Easter.

Laborsmith

Thinking about the timing I now expect Pricing Plans to become available after Presidents Day and before St. Patrick's Day.

Good thing my cousin is the manager of where I'm purchasing. We'll talk out pricing before I decide to purchase. Not looking to purchase until April\May next year so maybe they'll be applied by then.

Well, bummed that I won't be able to take advantage of my USAA discount, but I have already negotiated invoice pricing which I'm very happy to get. Even so, my 1SS still comes out just a bit higher than I had hoped to pay overall, but oh wells. That's the game you play when you want to be one of the firsts.

This really news really sucks...hope you guys can work out deals below MSRP or at the very least, don't turn to "the dark side" (whatever that may be lol)

This.

I spoke to my sales manager last night and he guaranteed me I would be sold the vehicle @ $38,262 (employee pricing).
